He certainly is endearing as a speaker.  I'm really glad he's our coach :)

If I had a son, I'd want him to play for this man.

Wow! thats impressive

But now I know why he can't recruit a big man....he can't go nose to nose with him

tower912

Wow.    One question for those who go to hear different coaches speak; how does this compare to their spiel?
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

After listening to this, I can see why Cottingham and Wild were quick to hire Buzz and not give a lot of consideration to other people.

This video = why I have a man crush on Buzz....we can argue some coaching decisions, but from everything I've seen and heard from Buzz in interviews - it is really hard to argue with his character, attitude, viewpoints....and it is my belief that who he is..will translate to who we are on the court, and that will equal big-time winners.

The website talking about it is here, but it seems to be down at the moment (along with all other marquette.edu pages):

The CIRCLES events are hosted by Marquette in select cities from time to time and are networking events.  I'm not sure of the circumstances surrounding Buzz speaking and who's in the 200 person audience.  I know that normal CIRCLES round-tables are for MU alumni and friends... so anyone?  We'll have to wait until MU figures out their technical issues I guess.

CIRCLES in L.A.

Marquette's Southern California alumni gathered in May in West Hollywood for the CIRCLES networking event. A crowd of nearly 200 alumni enjoyed a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Lori Bergen, dean of the J. William and Mary Diederich College of Communication, and featuring actors Nicholas D'Agosto, Comm '02, and Rondell Sheridan, Sp '80. One of the highlights was a candid chat with men's basketball coach Buzz Williams, who was interviewed by CBS network correspondent Ben Tracy, Comm '98, Grad '04.

ABOUT THE SERIES

CIRCLES: This lecture was part of CIRCLES, an innovative business networking program that connects Marquette University alumni with people doing business in fields such as health care, finance, journalism and real estate.

If this is the way that our program is run, Buzz will always have me in his corner, a class act through and through.  Also, I never knew that about Jimmy Butler, kudos to him on coming so far.

I'll let you know in 3 years....out here in L.A. I remember the same exact statements about Steve Lavin.  The same exact statements about Larry Smith at USC.  The same exact statements about Bob Toledo at UCLA.  The examples are endless.

I love what I'm seeing, but I evaluate after 5 years, not 2.

She's still on probation
