MU License Plates - Available

Just got an email from MU.  The Wisconsin "Marquette" license plates are now available.

$15 bucks.  Pretty reasonable.

Nope.  There's an article in the jsonline saying that while other plates are used for fundraising, MU's aren't.

Rather than acting as a fundraiser, Marquette is actually paying the up-front production costs for the plate, so instead of benefiting the university it's actually costing us. But a classy move on the part of Marquette, and I suppose it also works as a bit of advertising.

Not sure I'd call it a "classy move" .. It's a marketing move.   It's good to have hundreds/thousands of MU plates out there.

Unless you've got a MU plate duct taped to a rusty '87 Yugo.

It's interesting about MU picking up "up front" production costs, yet the state is charging $15.  You know how much a regular set of replacement plates is?  TWO BUCKS.  And that's shipped to your door.  With stickers.

Soounds good.   App is in the mail...."MCGUIR" and "BUZZBT" were my second and third choices.
