Hey, looking for a little help here. I'm currently not a student at MU, but my friend and I went to the Marquette versus Badger game at the Kohl Center last year. I was wondering when is the soonest time that I could purchase tickets for this game at the Bradley Center for the 2010-2011 basketball season?

mu_hilltopper

I don't think ticket dates have been announced yet.

Generally speaking, if not by buying an entire season, the only way to get a ticket to the MU/UW game is by buying a 5-pack -- one of the 5-packs will have the UW game (using history as a guide.)

(Or of course, using a ticket service/stubhub/scalper.)

Brewtown Andy

5 game packs went on sale on August 10 last year, FWIW.

If you're looking for individual seats (and not a 5-game or season ticket package), there are usually single tickets available from the box office, sometimes even up to the week before the game; however, if you want to sit next to your buddy, chances are there won't be any consecutive tickets available to the general public.

Like most professional and collegiate teams, MU offers individual game tickets go to season ticket holders a couple weeks before they go on sale to the general public.  Any remaining individual game tickets to the UW/MU game will be snatched up by the season ticket holders, and only singles will remain.

My suggestion: Make friends with a season ticket holder (especially someone who has a lot of Priority Points) and make it worth his/her while to get in on the pre-sale.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Of course, you'd need to be really good friends with a STH, since their allotment has dropped from 10 down to 4.  Those tickets are precious.

Buy the 5 packs .. they are cheap, around $50 per seat for end-zones, and you get 4 bonus tickets you could probably sell and end up breaking even.

Hell, you'd probably pay $50 for a ticket to the UW game on the street.

MUFan11

Thanks for all the info...looks like I will buy a 5 game plan

Warriors4ever

If I remember correctly, didn't they sell tickets in the upper bowl corners for like $99 for the whole season as a special promotion?  That would be another option, if they did that again.

mu_hilltopper

Good point.  $50 for a 5 pack, or $99 for a full season.   Makes me wonder .. if MU offers that plan again .. and if the same people re-buy their seats .. then no new people would be able to buy $99 seats, since they sold out last year.

Rollout-the-Barrel

Looks like $118 for the cheap season tickets this year according to my invoice.

That must mean we have 19 home games. They add a $1 BC fee per game.

Yes. Just check your marquette account online.

Mr. Nielsen

I did the math, it adds up for me as 18 home games.

Daniel

Ordered my season tickets yesterday!  :)  Can't wait.....

94Warrior

Do the math again, 99+19=118.  19 home games.   ;)

To be fair, one is probably an exhibition game (like MSOE last year).

I looked again, it does look like 19 home games. It shows for me a $1.35 BC fee.

$99, $118, 18 games, 19 games... who cares.  Something tells me we're all going to get our money's worth this year.

Edit: I reserve the right to change my quote on Jan 1.

I wonder if they will raise prices next year, which is a reseating year too.

Gotta think that they will with people paying $118/seat now won't want to give up their seats.

Daniel

Is reseating every two years? Yikes!

Does anyone know why you can't put your name into your parents season tickets after they die or simply don't want to go anymore? It sucks for me, but I'm guessing they do this to keep the waiting list rollin'.

Exactly.  Otherwise, there'd be stagnation in the ranks, as points would be handed down from generation to generation.

Good Marquette seats aren't a birthright.

Of course, this expectation isn't so far fetched given the legendary wait list and ticket policies of the football team up I-43.  But I'm curious as to whether any other team (pro or college) allows "ticket rights" to be passed to next of kin.  I think that Bucky used to allow this, but ceased the practice in the late 90's.

In any event, this rule can easily be circumvented by having your parents donate to the B&G fund in your name.  Accordingly, I have no sympathy for those who have to downgrade when their parents no longer subscribe.

It is now.  This is the first two year cycle.
