Body type... I would say Burke.  Hopefully the skill set is better.

Book it Danno!  I'm all for not getting carried away with new recruits (at least since I went a little overboard on Dieng), but Burke is setting the bar way to low.  This kid was first team all-state in Virginia for a reason.  Everything I've read consistently praises his footwork and says he can get his shot off in traffic.  He will be an offensive threat which Burke never was.  Given his size, his 2.1 blocks a game suggests to me that he doesn't have great hops yet.  A good reason for him to lose 20 or 30 pounds to get around Burke's weight.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Reminds me of that kid from Texas

Hahn?  Hahn's at 250 and working on adding still more muscle.

how about the next Damon Key. I would be ecstatic with that.

Damon was one guy that hadn't occurred to me, but the comparison seems quite a good one.  Remember Damon started over McIlvaine their freshmen years.  Mac did start the year slow after having to be checked out for several concussions he got in preseason practice.
Maybe the interest in Hahn is as a true center (like McIlvaine) while Gardner plays the four.  Playing those guys together, would really make the perimeter competition intense.  But if those two did play together, I think that it would be limited to a few teams for whom a little extra muscle in the mix would be called for.

I hope Buzz whips that kids into shape. I don't know if he will be able to play fast tempo.

Okay, he's heavy, but is it really fair to call him two kids?

As I unashamedly go for six posts in a row:

USF MUST BE PISSED.

Hell, the story that he was going to commit today broke in the Tampa Bay Paper!

i thought this was more along the lines of dexter pittman, who was supposedly pretty huge coming out of high school.

Right here! OK, he is a big and I sure hope he works out. I will take 6'9" and 280 if he can run the floor half ass decently and be a space eater down low and he rebounds. Two big time concerns--

1. Can we get him--we have no scholies available? Somebody has to be out!
2. The last time we recruited a guy similar, Lloyd Moore, he was a big bust. Hopefully Gardner is motivated. Moore was rated much higher

I do love the idea of a two headed monster of Otule and this guy--we should not be dominated in the paint!

How about, we did get him and I was wr, wr, wr, er, wrong?

Gardner will help spell Butler for a couple minutes. The thought of the difference in size between Jimmy and him just made me giddy.

There haven't been any stories lately on Smith, which could be a tell tale sign, but lets wait and see. Good get Buzz, his recruiting all makes sense now.

Haven't seen anyone make this comparison yet, but he reminds me of Robert Tractor Traylor.  He was about 6-8 300 in college before slimming down.  Obviously Traylor was a McDonald's AA and Gardner is not, but I'd love to see Buzz have that type of banger at his disposal.

Too late.  I think Big Ox will stay.

Someone make sure he likes the name.  We don't want to be like the people who called Michael Oher "Big Mike" when he didn't like it.  At that size, I think he would only have to tell you once that he didn't like it.

There was some great size on that team.  Big Mac, Damon and Ron Curry with Tony Miller running the show and Robb Logtermann firing up 3's.  I wonder what Buzz would have done with those big men in the paint.
