**Note to Vander: Get in good with Amir Williams...an uncommitted 6'10" center would be a very nice addition for 2011***

In all seriousness, though, this is great news for Blue. It seems like he's getting a lot of oppotunities to take advantage of his last name...

Introducing Marquette's #2, it's Vander BLUE and Gold...Team USA's leading scorer, it's the Red, the White, and the Vander BLUE!!! :D

280 is being kind.  He's an easy 300.

So, in other words, *this* Josh Smith wouldn't have a problem finding a good restaurant in Milwaukee.

Vander stated he's grown a couple inches to 6'5" in his latest interview with Rosiak.

Gaddy was a freshman this year at UW and he is still under 18???

I thought it was 18 AND under.  He is likely younger and simply has a late b-day like Vander.  Therefore it is possible that he is still on the U18 squad in spite of the fact that he is in college.

So then could Vander conceivably try out for the team again next year?  Or play on the team twice (this year and next)?

My son is 6'5" and he was guarded by Vander in the state tournament game this year. He said Vander is definitely as big as he is. I think 6'5" is pretty legit!

QuoteI see Vander is back to 6'3"

There is probably no reason to think they would have remeasured the players at  the try-outs. Probably more likely they just used their high school listings.
I would bet Vander is about a legit 6'4. He looked a bit bigger than 6'3 on tv at the state tourney. We all know how bball players love to pump up their own height though. Did anybody hear the post-game with Homer interviewing Jimmy Butler towards the end of the year? Jimmy claimed he was "6'7.5, 6'8" Haha fat chance.

Either way, glad to see Vander is still growing, and hes only 17 remember, so he might become a legit 6'5 before too long (and list himself 6'6).

I'd be very surprised if they did not measure the players at the tryouts.  I'd be shocked if they didn't measure height, standing reach, standing jump, some sort of approach jump, and some sort of quickness/change of direction running speed.

And having stood next to Butler many times I'd say he's 6'7".  No taller but not much shorter at all.

Congrats to your son.  That must have been fun.
