It looks like we have an offer out for this 6'4", 170lb tweener from Arkansas

Ky Madden (Arkansas Wings, 2011) - Madden is working himself into being a point guard. Developing physical strength will be pivotal for the long-term success of his career.

Ky Madden - Madden has offers from Marquette, Georgia Tech, Florida, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Memphis, Kentucky and Baylor.

All that I know about him is that he can dunk :P

Rivals lists him as a 5-star prospect, and has him as the 15th best overall player in the 2011 class, and 4th best point guard.

Though it sounds like he has a bit of a temper:

That 360 dunk is awesome, and I think Buzz could whip some sense into him. If we could get him and Branden Dawson, I'd be salivating :D

Its not a we thing, its a buzz thing...HE loves the south, which isnt really good news.

He recruits where the players are.   Right now, there is a 5 star in Arkansas but not in Rhineleander.   When there IS a 5 star in Rhinelander, I am sure that Buzz will pay a visit.

There are players everywhere.  I just find it interesting that we continually recruit mainly in the south.  Not saying there is anything wrong with it, just find it interesting.  (Yes, i know Buzz if from texas)

There is one in Menomonee Falls. Does anyone know if we offered Tokoto? Just curious, I know that everyone believes that he is going to UNC as soon as sophomore year is completed.

That's where his connections are.  And if he's the #15 player in the country, I don't care where he's from.

I knew we should have found a coach north of the Skokie line.

I am sure Buzz has, but from everything I have read, JP is looking to hear from the other Coach Williams.

I don't think we invite recruits we have no interest in to our NCAA Selection viewing party.

Incoming class:
Two from the Midwest
Two from the South
One from the East Coast

This isn't really good news why? Seems pretty balanced to me. I don't know about you but I think that opening recruiting connections around the country IS a good thing.

GOMU1104

Why do you guys think Buzz has set up home and homes with NC State, LSU and USC?

These are done for a reason...not by blind chance.

I think he was referring to his belief that Buzz loves the south so much that he might accept a position down there when a good one opens up.  Whether that's true or not there's no sense worrying about it.

I don't think MU does recruit "mainly" in the south.
Certainly that was the case for Buzz's first couple years with the program because that is where his connections lied. Is that much different than Crean recruiting a lot of Michigan and Illinois players his first few years at MU?
But if you look at the upcoming class, it has a good mix of players from across the country. And the list of kids MU is recruiting for 2011 include plenty of Midwesterners, i.e. Brandon Dawson from Gary, Mike Shaw from Chicago, Mychael Henry from Chicago, Darnell Harris from Milwaukee.

I talked to Tokoto's mom after Meno Falls was in the state championship game for football this past fall.  She said that Roy Williams was in contact with him more than anyone else and that MU and UW are on his list but it sounded like more of a contingency plan.
