today, no.  But i'll go ahead and make it a stone cold lock that Mbao leaves and we sign another big guy.

Care to elaborate on this any?

I guess.  I mean it's not like I have any crazy insider information.  But based on who we are being mentioned with, and rumors circulating Mbao, both on this board and from what I've heard through other grapevines, I just really think this is a very likely scenario.  If I'm wrong, I'm wrong.  But I'm pretty confident this will happen.

made what up?  i just made a prediction.  when you filled out your ncaa tourney bracket, you just "made up" your picks, based on any reasonable information you may have had available to you.  I've done the same.  We'll see what happens, but I stand by my stone cold lock.

jficke13

all of the 'information' on this topic available to you from this board is really reliable too

Lighten up, guys.  It's a prediction, one that has been floating around this board since the season ended and makes sense.  I think it's a good bet.

if i made a comment like that, 50 people put me on ignore-mr. all american says it and it's like filling out a tourny bracket??  o.k. i can play by those rules-every comment is a tourny bracket pick-you didn't have phil 01/logic yet by any chance did ya? ;D

dwaderoy2004

I actually did not have to take phil 01/logic because I was an engineer.  So maybe I missed something.  I'm just making an educated guess, based on information available to me.  Some from this board, some from off of it.  I'm not even saying I hope this happens, just that I think it will.

The information is nothing but rumors and hearsay at this point, though.  Not really the information that I, as a fellow engineer, would use as a base for an emphatic statement.

LOL.  Yeah I hear ya.  Maybe I'm going out on a limb a little bit, but oh well.  I like my odds.

There are facts, though:

1. We are in the final 2-3 schools of 3-4 Big guys and Buzz is still actively recruiting.

2. Mbao did not play in the final months of the season.  Whether it was injury related or not, we don't know.  But Buzz was strangely silent as to his situation.  Much like Patrick Hazel a year ago.

Actually we do know.  He sprained his knee midway through the season and was not cleared to play before the season ended.  In fact he still may not be completely cleared.  Buzz talked about it multiple times.

BrewCity83

Did Buzz have anything to say about Mbao at the banquet last night?

o.k. dwad-just trying to bust yer balls a little bit based on my experiences with some here on the board.  i personally have no problem with your prognostications.  that's part of what this board is for.  hey-good for you that you didn't have to take logic cuz it went pretty much like this-if a cub fan sh!ts in the woods-does it still smell??  if you answered why yes, as a matter of fact it smells worse than a bears dump then you are awarded 3 credits  ;D

no problem.  i anticipated some backlash.  although i really don't think what i predicted was that earth-shattering.

Ya' gotta' admit, a sprained knee that keeps a player out for the rest of the season does seem, well, unusual.  Then, few, if any, updates.  No wonder there has been so much speculation about Mbao's future with the team.

Maybe the guy is 7'2" so the healing process on an injured knee is a little different than the average person.

Maybe it really isnt that big of news.

Maybe people should stop worrying so damn much about it.

Maybe.

Or, maybe it wasn't a sprained knee?

Maybe the fact that all our bigs seem to get injured is big news?

Maybe people should stop worrying so much about the people who are worried about it?

In the end, let's spend some more time writing about Tom Crean. That's always productive.

Today's vocabulary word - prognostications

When I read posts with words like this I realize:
  1) This sure ain't Memphis' board;
  2) There are reasons other than the Basketball team to be proud to be a Marquette grad.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

So speculating/starting rumors on stuff you know nothing about is productive?
