Good first half. Is it just me, or has Butler actually gotten away with a ton of fouls that haven't been called? They seem to be like Wisconsin in that they foul on every defensive possession but got called on few of them.

Also a lot like Duke.

Yeah, the refs are letting them play. Guess I'm just watching Butler a little closer since I haven't seen them play much this year. I can see why they went undefeated in Horizon league - they have far more talent than the rest of their league.

Norm

Well, Duke definitely got a call there - should not have been a charge on Hayward.

texaswarrior74

Got away with a goal tend too; the two bad calls/no calls resulted in 5 dook points.

Can't stand to see how dook complains about EVERY call......refs are the difference right now....typical dook game.

SaintPaulWarrior

Just watch the cry baby Chris Collins...a lot like his Dad, alway crying for a call.

Norm

Guys, Butler has been the beneficiary of plenty of non-calls tonight. Kellogg commented on two plays where Hayward should have been called for a foul and wasn't. By the way, Butler has shot more free throws than Duke tonight. 14-3 in the 2nd half in favor of Butler.

NumenFlumenque

Jimmy Butler would have hit that shot.

Markusquette

Ugh.  Can't stand Duke.

Norm

Great game. If Hayward stays at Butler they are going to make another deep run in the NCAA's next year. Stevens is a great coach.

Did anyone see that pick Haywood set on the last play? Looked like the Duke player ran into a brick wall.

buckchuckler

Butler.  Wow.  Amazing run.

I can't believe Duke is the national champion.  They don't look that good yet they win.

Exactly what I was thinking!  Very Jimmy Butler-esque.  Too bad it didn't work out for them.  Duke stinks, can't stand 'em, but oh well.

Great game!  I mean you really could not ask anything more from a National Title game.

If that last heave by Hayward had gone in he would have never had to pay for a drink in the State of Indiana again.

Agreed.  A ton better than last years game.

Stevens is a heck of a coach.  So mild mannered and in control, like his players.

Interesting watching him, I've seen a few animated spurts but still is extremely stoic.

Stevens is a heck of a coach. Butler plays great D, which can take a team very far.

I hope this Jennifer Hudson version of One Shining Moment is a one and done. Not good at all.

As we left the bar I said if that went in it would have been the most replayed shot in the history of sports.  Man I wish that would have gone in.

If it was MU -  Butler, it would have gone in.  Can you imagine how entertaining this board would have been?

I would hope if MU was in the championship this board would be totally dead. Any self-respecting MU fan will be AT the final four, not sitting in front of their computer typing about it.

The only times I have watched Butler is the last 4 games they played.    They are the most aggressive hackers I have ever seen.   There defensive strategy seems to be grab until it is called.   I was completely neutral last night but thought the officials could have fouled out the entire Butler team.   But they were consistent.   It was a very physical game, but I thought Butler was just a bunch of hacks.

Incredible run by Butler. Great game with lots of drama. But watching 4 straight games now of theirs (Butler) where the offense of both teams is so bad...is just not great television. Call it great defense all you want but to me the game last night looked more like a 2-7 game at noon on the first Sat of the tournament.
