As many in the MU family already know Brian did suffer a stroke in early March. I want to clarify that Brian was NOT involved in car accident, as mentioned on another site. All prayers and well wishes have been extremely appreciated.

Anyone with inside recruiting info or stories about Brian's playing days please pass them on to us. He is enjoying MU ball talk and the more that we can share the better. He is proving yet again he is a "true" Warrior!!!

Again, please remember Brian in your prayers.

Sad! He was a member at the Country Club I worked for. I always asked him about playing under Al and marquette stuff

Great tips too

I agree with Ari, I also knew him from working there.  What a great guy!  Hope he improves soon.

Ari---He needs to give good tips with his temper:)

Yeah. Never a round that I  caddied for him when he didn't break a club. When I was in the bag room he put a club in a tree. I had to get it down. Still a great guy to talk to about basketball when he played a good round.

Brian Brunkhorst was one of the reasons I became a Marquette basketball fan (even though I never attended the school). He attended the same high school that my Dad went to -- Dor-Abby, a combination of small towns Dorchester and Abbottsford.

When he was a senior at MU, he played forward and was the tallest Warrior at 6-6. He shared the front line with 6-3 Pat Smith and 6-2 George Thompson. Despite their lack of size (much like today) MU had a great year and made it all the way to the NIT championship game. Back then the NIT was very prestigious, since the NCAA tourney wasn't as large (32, I think). Marquette lost in the finals to Southern Illinois, led by some guy named Walt Fraizer.

For those that might be too young (or too old, or right in the middle) to know Brian, here's his wiki page:
