Uniforms

With us being sponsored by Jumpman, I am under the impression we will be getting new uniforms next year.  I think we would have anyway if we were still with Converse.  If this is the case, does anyone have any insight into when they will be revealed or what they might look like?  Sorry if this is not a good topic for the boards but figured someone on here might know something...

Why would we get new uni's when they look awesome. When I tell people I'm a Marquette fan they'll almost talk about how we have the coolest jerseys. Yeah I'm not a fan of this switch and id be pretty upset if they did change it,  but I guess there's nothing I can do.

Also, IMO if we still were sponsored by converse we wouldn't get new jerseys after 3 years.

I remember our current ones being introduced in the fall of the season we began wearing them. So I wouldn't expect to hear anything until next fall. I hope they are not the typical generic uniforms that a lot of the other Nike teams wear. My hope is staying with the retro type look. Hopefully they think if they are a little different it will bring more attention, thus more attention to the Jordan Brand. After all, unique jerseys is one of the things that has made Marquette basketball what it is.

Bring back the bumble bee striped uniforms if you want to go back to a retro look.

We have some of the best jerseys in the nation, I hope we don't change them any time soon.  The baby blues are my favorite.

I like them too but I vote we lose the shoulder patches and have the squares of different color all around the trim.  We also need the MARQUETTE on the baby blues to be the same as the other colored unis...

Get rid of the shoulder patch and get a different font on the Marquette but keep what we have.

Does anyone know where you can find the new Marquette shorts with the Jumpman icon?  Or, in general, where do you all buy your MU merchandise?

They don't make them with the jumpman logo, only the converse logo for sale to the public.  Player issued gear only has jumpman logo on it this year because the switch was so late last season.

I just go to the spirit shop or online at gomarquette.com. I don't think you'll be able to find the jordan logo on any shorts warm ups or jerseys. I've been looking everywhere but they only say they come in converse. All the players have had to put patches to get the jumpman logo on there stuff, weird huh? I don't know why you can get the logo with Gtown, UNC, etc. But I just hope it will come to MU soon.

i like them too, but has anyone noticed that they seem to be getting hated on more than year's past? i know Bill Simmons referenced them and some other site I can't remember didn't like the checkered trim either. It kind of seemed like when they were new everyone knew they were throwbacks but have since forgotten. 

Oh well, screw em. the unis are sweet.

Three reasons to keep our uni's...

1. They are unique and unlike everyone elses cookie cutter tight jerseys

2. We have 4 different kinds (unlike many schools)

3. So we can break these curses everyones talking about

I think they're great and I'm in the "hope we keep 'em" camp.  They're so unique, if you're flipping through the channels and briefly catch a game or highlights, you immediately know it's MU.  It's really kind of annoying seeing all the other cookie-cutter uni's.  UW's were the same as Nova, and I think MSU is also the same.

sort of a new era starting, we sort of have a history of moving through "innovative" jerseys.    Buzz is into fashion he should have some input.....unless jumpman comes up with something that sucks, then stay.

I agree with the switch.  I think the Doc Rivers era jerseys need their moment in the sun.  The Tiger Stripes down the side.  Sam Worthen, Oliver Lee that was the early '80's when Michael Wilson wore one white sock up and a yellow sock down.  Sat on the rim after Doc's half court shot beat ND at the buzzer.

I say keep the current style, make a the shoulders similar to the rest of the jersey, and simply add on the jump man logo. It's important to remember though, that Wade was behind the design of these uniforms, so they may stay the same since he's the reason for the change.

I'm kinda disappointed I bought the baby blue shorts this year with the converse logo but the jumpman logo only gives me another reason to get the gold! (They gotta get more sizes in their). I also completely agree with the block lettering. People says they should keep it the same as the others but its nice to have somewhat a variety. Anyone know why they don't sell the baby blues (jersey) with the blocks?

I think they will be exactly what the players were wearing this year (with Jumpman logo). As for buying MU gear with Jumpman logo the spirit store is going to hang on to the converse gear until next season I imagine

Save the retros for the consumer base.

Keep the current ones with the Jumpman logo. If we could get some kind of Wade logo on there, that'd be awesome too.

Keep the current uniforms - they are unique, and cool.  I hope we dont change, consistent uniforms can create greater "brand awareness."  Changing uniforms every 3 years makes it hard for the casual fan to recognize a school....lastly, the best uniform "brands" rarely change:  Lakers, Packers, Cowboys, Yankees, BoSox, UCLA, etc...

That may seem boring, but I think these current uniforms are trendy, hip and unique enough to stand the test of time,.
