while not picture perfect, good to get the W. Has to be a confidence builder heading into South Bend. Losing tonight at home literally would have put this season on the brink.

Not just good, Great to get the W.  It takes huge pressure off this team.  They should play better and more confident in South Bend because of it.

Props to the coaching staff for getting these guys ready for tonight.  A must win for MU and a must win for Nova.  MU found a way.  Those guys were devestated after Saturday and to come back against Nova on one day's rest is a great job.

First 7 minutes were scary, but Lazar and the guys really pulled it together.

I have a feeling we will play a lot looser the next two games.

happy to see you mention Lazar, Chicos.  I finally see what TC has been waiting for out of Hayward.  What a great game!  He played more d and had more o than all of his previous games combined..., or so it seemed.  Do you think this game got the 'cork out of the bottle' so to speak?

Still a freshman, likely to have a clunker next game.  Consistency usually comes with experience, which is why next year should be terrific.  Lots of experience next year.

He is certainly finding his stride more and more, but I don't expect him to have it "uncorked" on a consistent basis until perhaps the end of next year.

What was great about Hayward yesterday was that he seized an opportunity.  Villanova and Reynolds came out yesterday and put us on our heels.  It was at that time that Hayward asserted himself by taking and knocking down the 3.  From that point on, MU played better and you could see Haywards confidence grow.  The best thing about it long-term is it showed he may have some leadership qualities.

Great win by MU last night.  They rebounded very well from Saturday night and from a rough start.  It showed their heart and toughness.

maybe, someday down the road we'll have the luxury of red-shirting projects like Burke, and pulling them off the shelf as needed.  Think how much he could improve as a 5 or 6 year player ala chappell and tucker.  with hayward's demonstration of his potential I hope TC gets him more involved in the o.  he might be ready to respond now.
