Dry White Toast

Can someone wise in the ways of TV maps and contracts directs us?  How do I know which game will be shown in my area on regular tv?

I will have these soon enough

For those of us in the DC area...Georgetown plays Thursday at the same time, so we wont be on the local CBS affiliate.

And because Georgetown is playing Ohio, those of us in Cleveland also probably won't be getting the game on the local affiliate.  Looks like I'm going to have to go out to watch the game.
Never wrestle with a pig.  You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

I'm interested in this as well as I am afraid Northern Iowa may get shown in Minneapolis.  That would suck.

mujaxson

At the very least, each game is streamed online (CBS's site) for free right?  So if Gtown is being shown locally, I can still get MU's game online?

anyone know about the chicago area? it doesnt look like the game is up against anything else regionally (big 10), but Kentucky is at the same time, so i don't know if it'll bump the MU game or not.

The lineup in the Chicago market:

11:25 a.m.: Old Dominion – Notre Dame
1:40 p.m.: North Texas – Kansas St.
6:20 p.m.: Washington – Marquette
8:30 p.m.: Lehigh – Kansas

Dont forget, you can watch all NCAA Tournament games in their entirety courtesy of NCAA's March Madness on Demand.

That's a beautiful thing.  HD beats the hell out of On Demand.

Damn we play at the same time as UK.  No way I am getting the Marquette game in Nashville. A sports bar it is.

On the Chicago news radio station WBBM 780, the sports announcer said that the televised games on Thursday in Chicago include Notre Dame and the Marquette WARRIORS.

Does it even matter anymore?  If its not on locally just go to a bar, also dish, directtv and maybe cable have additional channels to show multiple games.  I know for one Dish has channels like 148 or something close has an additional channel for March Madness.

I for one hope its not televised locally so my excuse to go to a local pub is better justified.

True.  I think the Direct TV package for all 64 games is only like $70.  (Which would be cheaper than my bar bill if we play more than 1 game.)

Perfect for us chicagoans. Not to get ahead of myselft but say we beat Washington do we know when (day and time) we play next. Also, is New Mexico really that good? I've never seen them on tv (if they ever have) and don't know who they've beaten.

On a different note, is ESPN going to buy out CBS next year for the tourny? IMO I would love it if ESPN hosted the tournament because they have what, 3 HD channels plus 6 or 7 ESPN 360 channels (on tv and computer) to watch.

Just be careful... even though I live in Chicago I am still thinking about going out and watching the game.  At least at bars they can "lock" games so it will not switch to another game.  How times have someone seen CBS switch to another game in the middle of the Marquette game?

Only if NCAA goes to a 96 team field.

Thanks... as I suspected Chicago market doesn't have constant which means like 20% of the game they will switch to something else.  Looks like I am going out to watch it where they can "lock" the game.

Benny B

CBS typically doesn't "look in" on other games if the one scheduled is close.  They may look in on another game during a timeout in the last couple minutes of a close game (like they did against Mizzou last year), but if the MU-UW game goes down to the buzzer, CBS isn't going to cut away on the final shot of the game - at least not deliberately (it all depends on who is at the switch, I suppose).
