must think we play in the PAC 10 or WCC since were faced with playing 2 teams (if we get that far) from the West in San Jose. We played out there the last 3 tournaments. Would be nice to play a game close to home for a change. If we win both, then we fly all the way back to Syracuse.

Yeah, the West bracket untwittingly usually gives the lower seeds an advantage in that they get games closer to home allowing their fan base to travel and watch, where high ranked teams from the Midwest and East play road-like games because of the distance they travel.

MarquetteVol

They had to put somebody out west an with only two Pac-10 teams in the dance geography goes out the window. Hopefully, we'll get to play a game or two on the east coast. :)

Warriors4ever

Perhaps they have mixed up Fr. Marquette with Lewis and Clark.

With a 6 seed and our matchups I can't complain about it. This is a great opportunity to make the Sweet 16. Plain and Simple.

Yeah, we have little reason to complain this year.  Six seed was very generous.  Since we have to avoid Big East teams until the Sweet Sixteen there has to be two teams in the West from the Big East.  And since there are not as many strong teams out West, they are going to play closer to home.

Most of the bracket regionals are screwy like that.

Would you like to go from Spokane or Providence to Houston?  How about Buffalo to Salt Lake?

The only exception is the Midwest .. maybe the worst is Spokane to STL.

It's 800-some miles from UW to San Jose. It's not like Madison playing in Milwaukee. The UW people will probably still have to fly so it's not like they're going to fill up the arena. Like we did in Minneapolis in 2003 when Wade and Co. earned the FF trip.

And we're a 6 seed, I'm not complaining about anything. I thought we would be an 8.

I'm thrilled we're a 6 with a reasonably beatable 11 and 3. And 14.  ;)

While it's not very close to Washington's campus, the Huskies will definitely have a strong contingent there.

1) Wash has a lot of out-of-state undergrads who come from northern Cali every year.  They have roots there.
2) Moreover, the ones who aren't from NorCal end up finding jobs and relocating to the area after graduating anyways.
3) Pac 10 fans will support their own.  They did in Anaheim wholeheartedly.
4) For the average hoops fan at the HP Pavilion, they will relate to Wash much more than a school from Milwaukee.  Much like we will root for Xavier when they come to Milwaukee.

This all being said, I can't wait for the game... I'm headed out there for my 4th west coast NCAA in 5 tourneys... the away game feel gives it a great atmosphere.  I think we match up well and think we can get a couple victories if we catch a few breaks.

I don't disagree with you Wardle, just saying it won't be a totally overwhelming crowd. The crowd frankly isn't a huge concern for me.
