GTown is top 10. They should EASILY be flopped with Pitt. Louisville sitting pretty as well.

I'm thrilled with 16, given what we've seen in the past 10 days or so. I guess how good you are is completely releative to the teams around you. Now we've gotta win some games though. Gott afigure we'll be Top 10 after we win our next three.  ;D

Georgetown at number 12 is beyond me.

5 BE teams in the Top 25.

Not the best timing for Wisconsin to get the Number 1 spot - just in time to go on the road to face a desperate Michigan State team, then travle to OSU on Sunday. Likely to be a short lived view from the top for them.

Pitt beat Georgetown head to head.  That makes it difficult to suggest they should "EASILY" be flopped.

Who would have thought after losing 3 in a row, that we'd still be in the top 20 in the country!

Mayor McCheese

makes me cringe to see Wisconsin ranked number one... In Big Ten play, they have played 2 tough teams... they are 1-1 (I don't even know if you can consider Indiana a tough team, but it was @ Indiana, so we will leave it there).... I expect Wisconsin to go 1-2 the last three, losing at Mich St(MSU needs it badly) and being just dismantled in Columbus, I predict a double digit loss in Columbus, with Oden having numbers around 20 points, 12 boards and 5 blocks.  When I watch Badger games, I have a hard time seeing their dominance in a conference where if you don't get 10 wins in the conference, there is no way you should be NCAA eligible (lets face it, Minn, PSU and NW is 6 wins right there).  Illinois beating NW 48-37 is a joke.

Maybe it is because I despise everything Bo Ryan, since I have been shoved my fillings here at Platteville, but man, I will give him one thing, he runs the refs like no one else in the league.

could not agree more with mayor's post above, hate wisconsin basketball, hate bo ryan, hate the fact that alando tucker is a 5th year senior and is about what? 38 years old.

love MU still in the top 20, love their chances in the next three games and in the BE tourney
"I don't give a damn if he can't do nothing else. He can shoot, and I love the way he shoots. I don't care if he can't dribble, can't rebound, can't play defense... that kid can shoot the ball." - Tracy McGrady on Steve Novak

EASILY because...

1.) That game was over a month ago. G'Town lost by 5 @ Pitt. There is no doubt that Pitt @ G'Town will be a W for the Hoyas by 10. A neutral court game between the two would be the same.

2.) G'Town was won 9 straight. We were excited about 8 straight. 5 of those W's are on the road. Two of those wins over ranked teams.

3.) Pitt has lost since the last ranking AT HOME to Louisville. They squeeked one out against Washington also at home.

There is no hotter team right now that G'Town.

Marquette84, while you are right, and that's how these pollers look at things. We all know G'Town > Pitt.

How in the Wide World of Sports are we #16!?!?!?

Don't get me wrong...I'm elated at the ranking, just confused how a team that has lost 3 in a row, manages to check in at #16.

Teams 18-25 went 3-13 last week.

Most of the teams below us also lost 1 or 2 games and some of those looked a lot worse than ours.  USC lost to a horrible ASU (first Pac 10 win of the year) yesterday as one example.  Look we might have stunk it up the last 3 games but 2 of those were close losses against decent teams.

And for those who think we are now on the bubble, I issue a challenge of finding 34 at large teams with a better resume than ours at this point in time.  We are definitely trending the wrong way and losing our remaining games would put us on the bubble but we are no where near it now.

yes, and 2 of those 3 wins were against other teams in that ranking range.. somebody had to win..
