I'm telling you right now, this team is one for the ages. As far as I'm concerned, if they reach the finals of the Big East tournament, you can put them next to the '94 team and the '03 team on the stone tablet of great MU teams since 1977. And if we lose in the 1st round of the NCAA I'm sticking by that statement.

We have no business being in these games, much less winning them. Every last one of these players plays within themselves and trusts their teammates. They are an absolute pleasure to watch.

Want to know the difference between last year's Big East tournament result (and much of the results of the last 4 years) and this year's? We didn't have McNeal or James acting like a hot shot and making boneheaded plays or taking atrocious shots in crucial situations.

Also, MU fans should never again talk about ESPN talking heads "having it in" for us. Fran Frascilla was practically foaming at the mouth talking about how great we are and Doris Burke, as annoying as she is, was equally effusive.

Agree with you 100%..Hope we don't lose first round game..but even if we do, will agree this team belongs in company of 1994 and 2003 Post-Al teams.  Cracked sidewalks did an article a 1-2 weeks ago that compared this team statistically to our 2003 team and great teams of the 1970s - basically said this has been our highest performing team, other than 2003 - since Al Days.
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

Don't like trashing the three amigos, but from at least a purely aesthetic point of view, i like watching this team just a little bit more. just a little.

Despite the fact that my blood pressure soars every game, I can't remember a team that I have enjoyed watching as much since my days at MU (70-74).

This team has real heart, always play as a team and leaves it all on the floor.....they make up for their lack of size with a high basketball IQ (most of the time), hustle, unselfishness and last but not least.... they are VERY well coached.

Kudos to Buzz for the way he coaches....not only the game of BB but also the game of life.....the kids obviously love him and love playing for him which is constantly being quoted by the game announcers....that will pay huge dividends for MU on the recruiting trail in the future.

Does your average college basketball prospect watch a lot of college basketball? I really don't know. I didn't watch any in high school, but I wasn't any good at basketball.

jaybilaswho?

I agree.

This is (i believe) the furthest we have made it in the BET, with arguably one of our weakest teams ever.

Are you joking? When they're not playing, that's all they do.

my only experience with that situation at all was watching hoop dreams, and it seemed like those kids just watched NBA. but thanks for clearing that up.

Exactly, many times even during SAT preparation classes!
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Let's hope some of them, at least the ones MU is recruiting, were in school at 1:30 p.m. today.
