Reading the Wiki, I see that both Murphy's and Caffrey's offer $1 pitchers after games (with a ticket stub....so presumable only one per student).   Wow!  That's damn cheap - even 10 years ago  :'( I think the best deal I got was $3 pitchers at Murphy's...

WashDCWarrior

I posted that for Caffrey's, but I'm not sure if it's still done.  I know it was two years ago.  If anybody can verify, please do so.

Yes, it was only one per person, but often the females of the group opted to drink something else or you could get stubs from people not going out afterwards.  They only kept the deal going for an hour or so, so you often ended up with two or three pitchers at a time.  You really needed to have your drinking shoes on to make sure that by the time you got to the third pitcher, it wasn't room temp.

PuertoRicanNightmare

O'Donahue's used to have $2 pitchers...and you got to keep the actual pitcher, which was nice.

TheGym

$1 pitchers?  That is even better than the 25 cent tappers at the Greentree.  Man I wish I could remember what went on during those nights at the Greentree.

MUfan12

Just saw a sign at Murph's last night... pitchers are now $2. Not sure about Caff's yet.

They've changed the way it works now, it used to be you could get as many as you wanted for a dollar as long as you had a ticket for each of them and when it first started it went longer than an hour.  But now they've limited it.  I forget exactly, but I think they take your ticket and stamp your hand, so that you can't get more.

When I was at MU (92-96), was a bar on the eastside that on Thursday nights had nickel taps and quarter pitchers.   :o  I can't remember the name but there was a big outside beer tent in the back.  at least from what i remember...  ::)

Was it the Leine's Lodge? I just remember them having a large tented area, but that's more downtown than East Side.

Oh man...that brings back memories.  We would gather tickets from any freshmen that were sitting near us at the end of the game, and then buy as many pitchers we could as soon as we got to Caff's.  Pretty beautiful sight, seeing 10 pitchers lined up, just waiting for you.
