Why was Jerel so young?

Clearly Jerel played 4 years and graduated as a senior, but hes like 8 months YOUNGER than Lazar. Both Dom and Wes a a month older than lazar so clearly Lazar is old for his year, but Jerel had to of been real young? Anyone know why the years are so off?
