He has been off his game for the past week and a half.  We need him.

PGsHeroes32

The fouls really killed him early and he had no rythmn or flow. I expect he brings it tomorrow
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

tough for a guy to get going when we got our rhythm in the first half without him
It's not about ME,
It's about US.

Butler is talented, but might be the softest player on MU's roster.

Ridiculous.  He drives regularly into the lane, and players much larger than him, on a regular basis.  He's undersized...not soft.

You are most definitely a glass half empty guy.

EXACTLY.  Who takes the ball to the hole and gets fouled more than JFB?

This was his worst game of the year by far and we survived it.  Whew.   He spends entire games fighting guys who are bigger and wider and yet is one of the most efficient offensive players in the country.   I think that is the definition of soft.   Certainly, there are times when it looks like the simple explode-to-the-rim is the easiest choice and he does the jump-sideways-with-a-twist option.    I think his stat line for the year speaks for itself.   I am confident he bounces back tomorrow.

Feb 28 vs. Seton Hall:  13 points, 3 rebounds
March 2 vs. Louisville:  8 points, 5 rebounds
March 6 vs. ND:  16 points, 8 rebounds

I wouldn't say it's been a week and half straight.  He had a poor game against Louisville (which we still won by 21) and was in foul trouble today and only played 22 minutes (and we still won).  Perhaps he isn't being as consistent as he has been all year but I don't think he is playing consistently bad.  It's good to see other guys are able to step up when he's off his game.  This guy has been huge for us all year with GW shots vs. UConn and St. John's.  I agree he needs to play well for us to win big games against tough opponents, and he will...

Yeah, Butler had an off game, but really was screwed by the ref on that charging call. The replay showed definitely that the defender was still moving into Butler as butler was trying to slice away from contact. That call changed the whole complexion of the first half, and subsequently hus play.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

Good point.  Maybe it is a little subjective on my end to say he hasn't been doing as much.  I think he has disappeared on the rebounded a little bit.  Defenses may have also figured out how to guard him too.  He and DJO may both need to work on some mid-range stuff to be tough to guard and get into NBA conversations.

Let's just see Jimmy active the rest of the way.  He has carried us at times.  He can get into NBA draft and All-American conversations next year with a strong tourny.
