Ehhh... They probably would have snuck in as an at-large. Had a pretty decent resume.

Wasn't there a pretty good chance that St. Mary's was in as an at-large even if they didn't win tonight? I thought I saw Lunardi had them in.

PGsHeroes32

Lunardi and just about everyone else said St Marys should get in pretty safely as long as Zaga didnt blow them out. I dont think a bubble was really popped here, all it really does is shortens the gap from us to the out teams. Shouldnt be a problem though.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Soft bubbles don't go pop.

The fact that UCONN is still "in discussion" for the bubble, along with Minnesota, etc shows it's Charmin soft baby!

This may be an odd thing to notice and all, but that was post #6666  :o... That might be an indication that the "soft bubble" is evil, and must be destroyed....just saying

So lets win wednesday so we dont have to worry about it anymore

Almost certainly getting in as an 11 or 12 seed if they would have lost.  Now looking at a 10, possibly a 9.

How is last year relevant at all with this year?  Last year, they were firmly on the bubble...they didn't get in.  This year, pretty much every projection I saw before last night had them in.

last year they had patty mills who was a solid nba prospect and they were also firmly on the bubble and it was the shock of the tourney selection that they didnt get in. i wouldnt have been surprised if they same thing happened because they are an extremely small school

Last year's tournament field was a lot stronger.  They were probably in barring major upsets in the big conferences.

And Patty Mills missed the last 6 weeks of the season with a bad wrist. The field was much stronger last year as well.

As was said, different situations.

Wasn't exactly shocking.  They had no confidence in deserving a bid to the point where they rushed to schedule a game against Eastern Washington after their conference tournament to try to improve their record, last 12 stat, and showcase the team with Mills.
