Per Big East Twitter:

"Pittsburgh's Ashton Gibbs was named the BIG EAST Most Improved Player."

Cant really argue with it.

Who's voting on this stuff, anyway?  Coaches?

Wouldn't have been surprised if it was either of the 3. All were deserving.

Ashton Gibbs
Jimmy Butler
Tim Abromatis

It absolutley can be argued for Jimmy!! Gibbs and Jimmy had very similar increases in stats.  Considering Jimmy's late game heroics against st johns and Uconn, i think he deserved the award.  But its too bad he didn't get it. Maybe Junior Cadougan can win it next year... who knows?

LON

Lazar deserved it last year and one can make a strong argument for Jimmy this year.

If we finish in the top 4, I'm pretty sure Jimmy gets the nod.

Maybe a 3 way battle between Eric Williams, Cadougan, and Mbao.  I would love to see that (yeah, homer comment).
Or another guy that has stepped it up lately - Fulce.  I do think he has the potential to be a monster - insanely active, has a good shot, is around every loose ball, is gaining confidence.
I'm like a turtle, sometimes I get run over by a semi.

what a joke......show em up in NY Jimmy!

Nah....Big East had loads of great candidates for this honor -- Butler, Abramaitis, Gibbs, Peterson, and Joseph.  Any one of these guys were deserving of the honor.
