In another thread somebody said Katz made the statement that "Marquette is out unless they get a deep run in the Big East tourney" during halftime of the CC-Winthrop game. Though I don't doubt he did say this, here's the latest from his twitter in which he responds to an MU fan about the very statement

He's likely just trying to cover up from not being prepared about MU's resume. Although I don't think we're a lock personally even I had to scratch my head that a highly-paid college basketball analyst would say we NEEDED to go DEEP in the Big East Tournament to work our way BACK IN to the field after being a projected 8 seed only 24 hours ago.

Are we sure he said this? I find it hard to believe, especially since he is a UW grad and seems to follow MU quite a bit

We are a lock.  There is no way the committee is not going to take the 5th place team from one of the two best conferences in the country.

What I meant to say and failed at miserably is, are we sure Katz said this? He is a UW grad and seems to follow the BE and especially MU pretty closely

im pretty sure he never even said the 2 wins in BET thing. If i remember correctly just last week he was one of the people most impressed with our 3 ot wins in a row.
