This team is much better as the unranked underdog.  The bottom line is if we win this game but then drop the last 4 (including the first Big East tourn game) we don't deserve to go to the NCAAs.  Lets have some desperation to win at least 2 of the next 4 and go into the NCAAs hungry rather than playing for position.

I would tend to agree, we seem to play best when expectations arent high. I know every fan base does this but we get soo high on this team when the win and just drop them when they lose. Keep in mind we start 1 frosh, 3 soph and a junior. This is a very very young team they will have ups and downs, id rather us go cold now than in march. Hopefully this will serve as a wake up call and a win over villanova on Big Monday can spark a magical run. It could happen. Lets not abandon ship yet. This team can play with anyone.

As much as I'd rather see us as a higher seed, I think you're right. Look at our performance alone in the 2nd halves of the last 2 games. We played better, and in the case of the Depaul game much better with our backs against the wall. Now only if they could play like that all the time even as a better seed or team. Losing 3 straight is obviously bad, but I guess we'll see if it will only hurt or help the team later on, besides any ranking.

obviously I agree it's better to be underappreciated than overranked, as we were earlier this year, but!  wouldn't it have been nice to get a high seed and maybe get past the first game in the tourney for a change?
