Anyone know why some tourney sites are co-sponsored or solely sponsored by a conference?  I could see if it if some of the smaller schools weren't able to cover all the duties and were getting help from their conference, but the Big East has 3 sites this year and Providence is the only one they're listed with.  And Oklahoma State doesn't appear to be connected with their site at all.  ?-(

It all depends who puts in the bid and assumes the host role.  When we hosted it, it was always Marquette only....never a joint host situation.

jaybilaswho?

maybe it has to do with multi school cities/regions or with having the funds available.

Is it just a profit/staffing thing?  Otherwise, what's to stop a school that plays at a secondary arena to ask the conference to host for them so that they wouldn't be excluded from playing there due to being the host?

The Big East's Headquarters are in Providence.  It would be like the Big Ten hosting games at the United Center.
