Did you see that?

Some Louisville assistant coach went to Buzz's left hand and blew right by him during the handshake line.

Classless move IMO...

Dude's been studying the Tom Crean f u handshake.

I saw that as well. I'm sure there will be some who take issue with how Buzz gets excited and animated when his team is doing well. I'm also sure that I don't care. Watching this team is stressful at times, but man are they awesome.

mwbauer7

He didn't look like he did it to say FU. Didn't he walk in front of Buzz? Maybe he had an issue with his hand/arm?

ChicosBailBonds

My guess is they weren't too thrilled with us leaving in some guys at the end, at least that's how their message board is calling it.

Others on their board correctly stated that they had no problem destroying us by 40+ at Freedom Hall in the past.

I typically hate it when teams run up the score.  MU was shooting 3s with less than a minute left, so I can understand the opposition taking issue with it.  But not Louisville.  I will not feel bad for Louisville.  This was a great time for MU to celebrate a great season

maybe he saw Buzz scratching his balls with that hand earlier

Was it Ralph Willard?  The same guy who coached Holy Cross in 2003 when we beat them in the 1st round in the NCAAs.  If I'm not mistaken, he's a good friend of Tan Tommy.

I have to figure you play basketball for 40 minutes.  Even if you are up by 20 towards the end of the game and the shot clock is expiring and your only shot is a 3 pointer, well, you take a 3 pointer.

4everwarriors

I'm giving the guy the benefit of the doubt. Willard probably had some bad Mexican prior to the game and was making a run for the throne before he soiled himself.

If there was ever a team that is not allowed to whine about someone running up the score on them it is Louisville.  I always cringe when MU leaves the starters in too long.

I was smiling large this time!!!

I will never forget the game at Louisvile (misspell intended) when they had us by 30 some points and we were clearly gassed but they kept on pressing in the last minutes. F them. The press is way worse than us taking 3s, I mean please.

They do realize we have a short bench... right?
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

most on that board are pretty honest about their discontent with their own team. i give them credit for their objective point of view.

One wonders who we could have brought in from the bench.

There is no one.

There was one coach who didn't shake Buzz's hand, but did give him a pat on the back.  At first I thought he blew Buzz off, but in the day of DVR's it doesn't take much.  At the very end it looked like it was maybe Willard who just walked by, but it was so quick that you couldn't even tell with a DVR.  Nothing looked out of the ordinary to me.

I wouldn't have done anything for a few reasons, but we did have the starting 5 out there and Fulce, Junior, Williams, and Frozena were available for 1.5 minutes.

I wouldn't have done it because
a) at least the first 3 of those played their asses off and played well today and putting them in for pity minutes in a game they contributed to could kinda say "thanks, but you still suck."
b) 1/26/2005: Louisville 99, Marquette 52 - Diener's hurt, Marquette has no PG, is obviously outmatched, and is going to lose, and Rick Pitino has his team still pressing with a minute left in a 47 point game.  Never again will I feel sorry for beating them by any margin.

+1 I was going to post this, but you got there first.  There was no brush off, and it's a silly thing to complain about after a 21 point win anyway.

The guy's name is Suka Mi Deek.  A little know assistant from Sri Lanka.  He tried out for lead singer of Journey but it didn't work out.  Now he is Ricky's right hand man.

your memory is far better than mine but that is exactly the game I was talking about and I could not agree with you more.

Well, the internet helped me with the date and the exact score...  The description was from memory though.  ;)
