Trading Deiner...

Not sure if this was mentioned or not, but it looks like Deiner might be thought of more as an expiring contract then an on court asset.

Feb 15 - With the Feb. 22 trade deadline looming, GM Otis Smith figures the talks will intensify this week. Said Smith: "Lying on the phone is one thing, but doing it face to face is much tougher. Things should pick up now."

Smith said the Magic had serious interest in fifth-year power forward Melvin Ely, who was traded on Tuesday from Charlotte to San Antonio for Eric Williams' expiring contract. The Magic offered the expiring contracts of Travis Diener and Bo Outlaw, but Charlotte chose San Antonio's offer instead.

"I'd be lying if I said I didn't have interest," Smith said with a smile.

TD's salary is hardly enough get excited about from a cap standpoint.

No worries. He'll find his way onto a roster...like Miami's!

I mean, if that dork from ND can make the team, Diener surely can land on an nba team.
