I just watched Buzz's media availability on CrackedSidewalks, and what he said about Junior was very encouraging to hear.  Buzz said that he told Junior that if he came back, he would be the difference in one game for MU.

I think that Junior coming back after hearing that shows that he is a team first guy and already willing to sacrifice for the team.  Buzz did not tell him that he would beat out any of the guards ahead of him for much playing time, but rather that Junior could be the difference for the team.  Junior gave up a year of possibly starting with better players around him by not redshirting, and he might be the difference in making the tourney this year.

Being able to play college basketball and getting free tuition is already very lucky, so it is not exactly the epitome of selflessness.  But it is encouraging to hear.  Tip of the hat to him for doing something for his teammates, and I am glad we have him.

thats great to hear. I cant to see him with more action next year along side Vander and DJO.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Last game must have been awesome watching for him.  It's very encouraging!

Buzz said Junior really helps out in practices now, taking on the role of the next opponent's best guard, etc. and that in the SJU game, the 6 minutes he played game a physical and mental break to the others.

So . . . I hope we see more of Junior.  Heck, I hope in the Seton Hall game we see Frozena!

Junior is going to be a real nice player for us. The kid just reeks of toughness and has a great feel for the game.

I have to do this - great contributions from Brad Galli and Crackedsidewalks.  He impresses me every time!
You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

Start giving him Cooby's minutes, NOW!
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

If Junior is indeed ready for prime time he wiuld be getting more than 4-6 mpg------you just don't sit a guy like Cooby who is a 40+ trey shooter-----being a small team MU will live and die with the 3 point shot----so far all we've seen from Junior in that respect is two clunkers!

Since going 6-6 against Georgetown, Cubilian is 10-38 from 3...a whopping 26%.

You don't just play a guy like Coobie unless you are very uncomfortable with what you have to replace him.  Coobie's minutes are a clear indication that Junior has a ways to go, rather than an indication that Coobie has any reason to be starting on an NCAA caliber BEAST team. I can think of five MU players I would rather see shoot a three right now, and I can't think of any MU player that has as poor of shot selection at this point in the season.

Probably not in there to shoot 3's that MU will have to live and die with.

Let's see what Junior has today.  He is the first guard off the bench.  Here's his chance to step up.

it is comments like this that make me take everything you say with a grain of salt.

it also makes me wonder why others don't do the same.

Dumb fouls like that won't keep him on the floor
