I was thinking about who i would put on my all decade team and this is what i came up with.

Starters
1- Travis Diener
2- Dwyane Wade
3- Lazar Hayward
4- Steve Novak
5- Robert Jackson

Bench
Jerel Mcneal
Wesley Matthews
Dominic James
Odartey Blankson
Kordell Henery
Scott Merrit
Todd Townsend

I must admit I dont know many players from before 2002.

Your thoughts?

reinko

I don't want any quitters on the decade team.

ODB out.

Brian Wardle is not in the top 12?  Has to be an oversight.  Todd Townsend does not belong on that list.

The Top 5 are solid.

wyoMUfan

jerel is the programs all time leading scorer, he has to be a starter....

I would put Brian Wardell on there.  Probably Oluma Nnamaka too.  If I had to knock two off that list in order to do that, it would be ODB and Townsend.

Would u start him over Wade?  Not a chance.  Wade owns the 2G slot, tough luck for 'Rel.

Those are the positions they basically played.

Ahoya06

There was a similar discussion on Homer's show right around new years. They did an MU starting 5, and tried to put one together for UW. A matchup between the two would likely result in a laughable blowout in our favor.

APieperFan3

Heres my starting lineup...small...but ridiculously talented offensively

2. Jerel Mcneal
3. Dwyane Wade
4. Steve Novak
5. Lazar Hayward

Robert Jackson
Dominic James
Brian Wardle
Wesley Mathews
Olouma Nnamaka (sp?)
Scott Merritt (in the doghouse)
Cordell Henry

Walk On: Rob Hanley

It would have been fun to see Lazar and Novak in their senior years play with Wade.    Let Wade create with Novak and Diener and Lazar as three point threats.  Wow.

We might want to put Barro on there for some depth at big over Todd Townsend.

MR.HAYWARD

Todd Townsend?   Good kid but did he even ever score 8 points  agme.  he was on some pretty average teams that could have really used another scorer and most of what i remeber was a really really lose dribble, decent defense and a very wayward shot.  good kid not a very good player.  Starter for Mu's 2003 team becuase an extremely short bench.   I would take Jimmy butler over TT in a heartbeat.

PuertoRicanNightmare

Why in the world would anybody put Todd Townsend on an all decade team? Seriously. The year after the FF, he was glued to the bench and his senior year he wasn't much better.

Joe Chapman was a much better player than Todd Townsend.

Are there plenty of basketball office girls for him to knock-up on this Decade Team?
