Free Throws A Concern Now?
« on: February 15, 2007, 08:54:15 AM »
Whoever on the board said a while back that our free throw shooting has yet to affect a "W" or "L" for us, or isn't a concern for the tourney, well, here you go, here's the first game we should have won if we hit our free throws.

Everything else aside (Ooze not having a typical game, 3's, etc), we hit our free throws we win this game.

I figured FTs would cost us at least 1 game this season.

On the bright side, I wasn't expecting FTs to win us a game this year.....and if we lost this one due to FTs, we won the game at Pitt due to FTs.

I said back in Dec & Jan that FT's were gonna kill us this year.  We improved in Big East play but we relapsed yesterday.  Anybody that doesn't think FT shooting will hurt us is only kidding themselves... if we shoot 75% yesterday from the line, it's a tie game.  DePaul shot above their season average and we shot below our season average... guess who wins.

This team can be a final four team (with good ft % and Good DJ) or a first round loser (last night FT shooting and Bad DJ).

Free throws have always been a concern throughout this entire year and we all knew deep down inside that at some point in time free throws would cost us some games.
