Anyone remember PITT's game against the Wildcats of New Hampshire on December 4? I certainly did not. As I was scrolling through their schedule, the 47-32 score caught my eye. As I read the post-game article, I marveled at the complete futility of both teams in the first half. First of all, the halftime score: 15-7. Yep, 15-7! That would set the mark for fewest points combined in a first half since the shot-clock era began in 1985. Furthermore, the Wildcats had a 7-4 lead with 9:24 remaining in the first half! They would score their next bucket with 18:24 to go in the second half. We've had are droughts, but that one is in a league of its own.

Obviously, PITT has come a long, long way since that embarrassing night, but can you imagine the halftime score at the BC if they reverted back to that level of play?

Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that that game was preceded by a double-overtime victory over Duquesne. I'm just saying...

Don't forget about the first round tournament game against MSU when MU went the first 12 min without a scoring.  It was a brutal game to see live.

That's true. I remember exactly where I was when I witnessed the slaughter in Winston-Salem. Stingy Big Ten defense is so annoying, yet so effective.

Kinda OT: I noticed that the Pitt-Duquesne game was played on a neutral site.  Was it considered neutral because they are both from Pittsburgh or because it wasn't played at either teams normally home arena? Not that it matters, I was more just wondering.

WORST DRAW EVER!  I might be wrong, but I think we were ranked that year heading into the tourney so I don't know how we got the 8/9, but then they match us up against MSU which is always a quality team AND it was to face UNC in the second round which was the best 1 seed.  Totally sucked.  I think McNeal wasn't playing either.  That was frustrating to watch.

For the MSU debacle, I was out in Las Vegas, sitting in the Hilton's sportsbook.  We were the better seed, so I was outnumbered by a solid 50 to 1.  That first half felt like it lasted hours.

HA... was at Vegas too watching from the blackjack table in Harrah's.  I lost with MU.

I was on a cruise.  It sucked, cause they needed special feeds for most of the games.  So during breaks in play, it was just a distance shot of the floor since it was the direct feed and there was no add ins from studio and the network.  During the MSU game, it was on in the sportsbook, with no sound.  It was so bad, so awful and I was watching it by myself, that I walked away to play craps nearby in hopes of salvaging my night.  Uggh.
