Bring Down the House Steal and Dunk
« on: February 15, 2010, 08:49:55 AM »
I really like this year's team. They play with heart. A turnover and 2 easy points are just that, a t/o and 2 but I miss the frequency that we had the steal and dunk to really get the crowd going that we had last year. DJO is sort of the only one. Are Vander or Reggie potential lock down defenders with a follow on exciting slam? I understand that Smith has the hops and has some history with impressive dunks.

Another thing is I don't believe Buzz has the guys gamble as much in going for steals either. So that alone would lower the number of opportunities.
But I like to throw handfuls...

Vander and Reggie can definitely throw down..but as mentioned earlier, Buzz probably has this team playing much more fundamentally sound defense than the previous regime.  This is likely due to having no big man to be a last line of defense...So, we may see less steals - but have a feeling we will be applying a ton of full court pressure next year which should lead to some T.O.s and subsequent dunks.

Lastly, I didn't think last year's team or the Big 3 did many steal and dunks.  Maybe James..but McNeal hardly ever dunked, and Wes didn't have too many steal/dunks..
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."
