Tommy Brice for Coach

everyone watching was just thinking no DJ no. and right on cue he hiosted up our chances of winning that game
"I don't give a damn if he can't do nothing else. He can shoot, and I love the way he shoots. I don't care if he can't dribble, can't rebound, can't play defense... that kid can shoot the ball." - Tracy McGrady on Steve Novak

Something needs to be done about the officiating against Marquette.  For those that dont know me, it might sound like im whining, but I(up until this season) have never blamed officials for W's or L's.  The officials this season home and away have screwed us in more ways than I can count.  Fitzgerald gets screwed more than any player I have ever seen.  Also, there is no way DI college basketball players can miss that many layups with out getting contact.  Crean was hot after the game, hopefully he starts doing something about the one-sided officiating his team has seen this season.  MU would have 3 less losses this season if it weren't for terrible officiating.  OK im done venting:)

can't pin the loss solely on DJ, as there's no way we should have been in that position in the first place, but hoisting 2 threes from 30-35feet with under 25seconds to play? definitely made some terrible decisions in crunch time. DJ, there are 4 other guys in blue around you. please, please use them.

ugh.

Officiating?  Puh-lease.  The REAL #13 team in the country would not even put themselves in a position to be affected by the refs at the end of the game.

won't blame the officials, although Fitz seems to pick up more ticky-tack fouls than anyone i've ever seen, and it's not even close. his 3rd, 4th and 5th fouls were some of the cheapest calls i've ever seen...

ugh...

Why bother being a fan anymore if you cant get on the officiating after a terrible loss?

Ha. Good point, Roc.

dj may have made some bad decisions in the last two possesions, however, the decisions he made to get our team back into the game should not go unnoticed.

im sick of all this DJ bashing.  i dont understand why our fans would publicly bash any of our own players on our message boards.  make fun of jerry smith or draelon burns, but the negativity towards DJ needs to stop.  as much as we all love DWade there were times in his last season when people bashed him too.

and i dont want to hear from crean or anyone else that we lost because we were sick.  sometimes playing sick can be an advantage, i played some of my best games with fevers and headcolds.

depaul outplayed us today.  we had a draining loss at georgetown and weren't able to rebound.  we need to against louisville.  last time MU was on a 2 game losing streak in the big east, we went into uconn when they were still playing tough and beat them.  we will not lose three in a row.

It looked like DJ was auditioning for the pros there. Ridiculous. That much time left, and he pulls up for a 35-footer? His plays at the ends of each half cost us immeasureably. If we don't beat UL Saturday we're looking at a seven or eight seed.

i'm sorry you're sick of the DJ bashing. frankly, so am i. but there are legitimate concerns being raised regarding his current play/decision making. therefore i don't consider it bashing as much as normal fan critique. now the posts that say we'd be better off without DJ, that's just plain silly.

Big Papi

DJ last 2 shots were bad but he is not solely to blame.

Our free throw shooting was beyond bad.

Depaul killed us on the offensive glass.

DePaul was hitting there throws but without a legit 3 point shooter on the floor at the end of the game we had to go for the quick 2 and foul.  Had to play the percentages.  Poor decision by TC.

Barro couldn't finish and was in dream land much of the game

and our defense sucked bad in the first half.

Unfortunately we made too many mistakes as a team to win this one.

Rocco

It has become bashing, it is not constructive.  James draws a lot of contact, and unfortunately he isnt getting the calls, hopefully that will change and he can improve on his outside jumper in the mean time.

rocky_warrior

Overall, James had a good game.  The last couple shots deserve to be questioned, but that's about it today.

Right...like the "real #3 team in the country" last night or the "real #6 team in the country" last night.
