Great Job Mo Acker!

I agree.. Acker was awesome tonight.  He was a very close second to Lazar for SoG.  I'm just astonished that Lazar got 14 rebounds against 6'10+ players (even if some of them came after Famous fouled out).  That was Lazar's nod.  0-4 from 3PT line didn't help him and almost made Acker SoG just for that but a very strong double-double is what it is.

EDIT: 114 = 14 and some people don't understand foot-inches in that format so I dumbed it down for them.

I'd be astonished if he had 114 boards too!  I think the 3 steals and 2 blocks on top of the double-double are actually what lock it up, despite the missed 3s.  Tonight was won by defense.

Mo did have a really good game and was a major contributor. He needs to convert the 1 & 1s in the final minute, though.

The tip "rebound" to Butler in the final minute (?) is a perfect example of what a heads up player he is.  The 6:1 assist/to ratio isn't bad either.

If not for Lazar, he might be the team MVP!

Completely agreed on Acker last night. He was fantastic, off the top of my head without thinking too much about it has to be the best game of his career.

I thought Famous would be better. His conditioning didn't look good at all. He looked winded a lot in the final minute when he played into the fourth minute of each segment.

Eye, I believe a lot of SF's players were gassed at the end, and I believe a lot of the credit for that goes to Mo (and the coaching staff).  After defensive stops, he constantly pushed the ball at a fast pace, and made the SF players sprint back even in situations where we decided to pull it out and run some offense.  This approach took its toll by the end of the game.  A perfect example was the four-on-none fast break we got late in the second half.  I can't remember a game where we turned such a huge disadvantage (size) into such a noticeable advantage.  I know we got killed on the boards, but we dominated the turnover battle, and the fact that they were so tired at the end allowed us to get the points we needed.

Mo is a huge reason we are where we are this year. his errorless efforts are underlined when we see Buycks and DJO make a couple mistakes(not many) but they serve to make us aware of his contribution. I agree the pace of the game caused SF players to run out of gas. Good game plan and good execution by Maurice
