... the opponents rush the court when they upset you.

It happened to MSU last night.  Hence MSU is high major.

I believe it has happened to us three times in the last several years (DePaul, USF and East Carolina).

🏀

I disagree. DePaul had a reason to rush, their first conference win in over a year. East Carolina beat a top ten ranked team. USF beat a top ten ranked team.

You rush the court for a CHAMPIONSHIP victory. Then only if it is a tough game or an upset. And I don't mean a pre-season, 8 team tournament either.

I don't see any reason to rush the court over a mid-season win. Maybe if it clinches the season title, but that is it.

I don't care what the opponant is ranked.  I could see it happening if a low major knocked off a top ten team, but I still would not agree with it.  Those games are usually played early in the season when a top team has not gelled yet.

Anything less than these standards smacks of bush-league IMHO.

I don't understand why people are so anti-rush. I've been a part of a couple, and they are very fun.

Hey Vikings, I like what you've done with the basement.

"Lazar Hayward. The L stands for leader, and the W stands for winner, Lazar Hayward is a winner."

This is EXACTLY my point.  We are consistently in the top 10, and when we are upset, the fans rush the court.  Hence, if you get "rushed on" it is becuase you're a high-major team.

When was the last time IU was rushed :)

Just under two years ago. March 2008.

You consistently make the top 25 each year.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

Already said this on another thread. There is no logic to rushing the court. Indiana rushed it after beating the golden gophers this year. I'm pretty sure right now the gophers are no high major team
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Coleman

I thought "high-major" had to do primarily with conference affiliation (Big East, Big Ten, SEC, Pac-10, ACC, Big 12). And then there are some exceptions for teams in mid-major conferences who have consistently risen to the level of the high-majors on a yearly basis (Gonzaga comes to mind). Am I wrong?

PGsHeroes32

No they are teams of a "major" conference. High major teams are the high teams within that major conference. Ex: MSU, Nova, Duke etc..

I always thought it was as reneerow described.

A more relevant question is whether an IU defeat will be celebrated by the victor with a court rush. Given TC's recruiting I suspect not while he is at the helm.
