Getting better: Crean said on Monday evening he was closer to fully recovering from his recent illness, which was confirmed as not only the flu but also a case of strep throat.

Crean, who had a 104.5 fever when he returned home after the Rutgers game Wednesday night, missed out on the White House tour in part because he wasn't feeling up to it. He was also playing catch-up in preparing for Saturday's game with the Hoyas.

Sophomore guard Wesley Matthews, who played only 19 minutes at Georgetown after coming down with an illness as well, didn't practice Monday. MU also had off on Sunday, giving Matthews a full two days to recover.

The hope is for Matthews to practice on Tuesday and be close to full strength by Wednesday, which is when the Golden Eagles travel to face DePaul.

yeah just read it myself and had the same thought.. needs to be on my regular reading rounds..

wow.. 104.5.. I remember having a 105 temp one time and I was so delirious at that point.  I don't know how he could still function at the high energy level that he does.

I emailed him direct to thank him about starting the blog, he wrote back that initially his superiors were not sold on the idea, I'm glad they finally saw the light, his blog is great.  I know we rip on the JS for it's coverage of MU, but this is one thing they did right.
