Would love to see Wisky vs UCONN first round matchup...

For some odd reason thats my 12 over 5.  Wisky not at home, their only good wins this year have come at home.

Wisky may just be playing in Milwaukee this year for the NCAAs...practically a home game.

Only 4 Big Ten teams....now that is something.  Only 7 Big East teams.

I think that is about right, we all know we have some work to do as does LVille and SH

I posted a story from ESPN Insider yesterday, that basically emphasized the importance of a signature win.  I don't see how Xavier makes the tourney (in this projection) and not MU - when Xavier's best win so-far was over then #19 Cincinnati.  MU beat XU head to head, and has the win over Georgetown..which definitely should qualify as a signature win.  We need to pull hard for Georgetown the rest of the way..and need to beat Cincinnati...and not have any slip ups the rest of the way.  Lot's of Bball to be played yet...

Let's pull for UConn as well.

Xavier is in first place in the A10 with a 7-1 league record (15-6 overall) and doesn't have a bad loss.  While the A10 is not as strong as the Big East, they still feature 5 projected NCAA teams, so its not a terrible league either.

MU is tied for 8th (with 3 other teams) in the Big East with a 4-5 league record (13-8 overall) and have a bad loss to DePaul and borderline bad loss to NC State.

At this point, I have to think that our win over Georgetown is probably viewed more of an upset than a signature win.  That may change by the end of the year, but right now Xavier probably has a stronger overall case.

Now, if you question how Richmond gets in ahead of MU, thats another story altogether . . .

Upset or not a win against GTown is a signature win anyway you slice it.  The more upsets we can get right now the better, as far as I'm concerned.

It's never been based on head to head even those with low basketball IQ's know that.   ;)   Just giving you grief.

I think the bigger story would be the Colonial getting as many teams in as the Pac 10.  Could they be a one bid conference?

Isn't USC the only team that has more than one win against a ranked team this year?  I can't remember for sure but it doesn't look too pretty.

Nice Chicos.  While your above stats may be somewhat telling - the article I posted yesterday talked about the significance of a signature win.  Georgetown definitely qualifies..sorry MU84, that won't be seen as a fluke when you have margins of loss to Cuse, WV and Villanova on average of 2.5 points.  Xavier is the beneficiary of scheduling well - no under 200 RPI teams that I see, this is where MU gets killed by the likse of Presby, North Florida, Grambling, et al.  Ironically, the Pomeroy ratings have us at  17 and Xavier at 20.  Pretty amazing your source is projecting an RPI of 70 - last I saw, our RPI was 56.  Just goes to show how much variance there is between RPI and the widely-respected Pomeroy Ratings.
