Any explanation on the use of all of the timeouts by Rutgers at the end of the game? It was over, but they continued to use them and I don't understand why. thx

I'd guess that they were trying to use the game time as a learning experience for their players.  Taking the timeouts and making adjustments during a blowout will be good experience for when they end up in a close game later this season.

Plus, while I'm sure the players wanted to get off the floor, keeping them there for a little extra time doesn't hurt.

The coach is always coaching, no matter the score.  If he isn't, then I'm not sure I want that guy as my team's coach.

Peter Carrol would have thrown a bomb on Fred Hill if he tried that

Obligatory:  Can't you ever let a thread pass without making a subtle jab at Buzz.

Hey, this is fun.  I can do it too!
Never wrestle with a pig.  You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

I actually thought it was kind of bush league.

Fred's team got run out of the building for the first 20min.

The next 16min. were played to a standstill (with MU up 20).

Then in the last 4 min, Fred decides to press (which actually worked) and call TOs. WTF Freddy? You decide to start "coaching" in the last 4min?

I thought it sort of sucked. If they had been pressing all game, I could understand continuing that style... but to break it out in the last few minutes seemed weird.

Probably should have done it earlier... might have thrown off MU's rhythm in the 1st half.

I read this earlier on my blackberry (no teal color) and though, what the hell is he talking about.  Glad I see the teal now.

At first I was annoyed by it, but figured it was a teaching point or something that Buzz has been known to do so I can of understood. After reading what you wrote I totally agree because for most of the game it didn't seem like RU and him cared at all about the game.

I knew the game was over in the middle of the first half when Rutgers had a steal or something and got an easy lay up in transition and we inbounded quickly and got down the court and Jimmy had an easy dunk. Rutgers had maybe one guy back and I couldn't believe it. Hill didn't even change the expression on his face or sub someone out. I would have been shocked/angry if this were to happen to us and Buzz did not either call a timeout and chew out the team or go right to the bench and chew out some guys as they came off the floor. Granted with this team I don't think we ever have to worry about them not getting back on D, which is something that makes me proud to be an MU fan (and something I've noticed about these teams for many years)

You are a closet UW-Madison fan and this is a sick, subliminal attack on our coach!

I was thinking bush league myself.  Also, did anyone else notice Rutgers' coach yelling while our guys were shooting free throws?
