Word has it Microsoft is in negotiations with ESPN (Disney) in order to stream ESPN360 content on the Xbox. I would love this as I hate sitting in front of my computer streaming MU games that aren't televised. I just hope they wouldn't charge for it on top of the Live membership.

There's no additional charge for ESPN360 if you have an approved internet provider, right?

And yes, if this goes through, AND it's in HD, that'd be super awesome.

Wow, greedy.  I'm just happy I get to see the games in a tiny portion of my computer screen (looks terrible trying to go full screen).  Now we want free HD streaming on the tv.

I'm hoping that they throw up an app for the Xbox360 because Time Warner won't give in to ESPN's demands for payments from the ISP.  There's no reason that ESPN360 shouldn't be in at least 720p.  Hulu and Netflix can do it on a much larger scale.

I certainly wouldn't mind if ESPN360 got added to Xbox Live, but I've always backed Time Warner in refusing to buckle under - applying the television business model to the internet is irritatingly stupid and goes against so much of what the internet is about.

Hulu will be charging soon as well.  Very soon, nothing will be free.  The cable and satellite companies are paying billions to these programmers (NBC, ESPN, etc) and when they see them giving it away for free, well you can imagine that they're asking the question "Why am I paying you guys for all this content and you're giving it away for free".

It's going to be a very interesting next couple of years
