Did he have a great game? Of course not.  But in case you were watching the game neither did many others for us.  Also it was a 3 point game until Georgetown went on that huge run.  Give them credit they are a very solid team that got the last run and won at home.
Before you all obsess over Dj all night consider this...
1. Did Wesley score? Did wesley get a rebound?, Steal, or assist?
2. Did fitz do anything?
3. Did this team have the talented bigs to match Gt when Ooze was out. Did we have the talent on the front line that georgetown had in Green, Macklin or Summers had in supporting Hibbert?
4. How about the terrible decision making involved in Jerel's 2nd and 3rd fouls.
Sure put all the blame on Dj...yes he deserves some but so does about everyone on the team except for OOZe, Lazar, and maybe Cubi today and include the coaching staff for having only 1 big as talented as about 5 for GT

Harrison, you make my point re the recruiting class.  Why haven't we recruited anyone taller than 6'8"?  Even Mike (permanent IR) Kinsella gave ooze a breather and would have been a great tool to try WITH ooze.

I just did a search on scout, in the class of '08 there are a total of 46 players with 3 stars or higher who are taller then 6'8 in the ENTIRE COUNTRY and 7 of them have committed already.  That leaves 336 DI schools going after 39 kids.  That's why the 6'7-6'8 kids who can run and jump are in such demand.

(My edit based on Spartan's post, my search was the class of '08 not '09, '09 was a typo.  Also, there are 336 DI hoop schools, not 315 as I posted before)

'09 kids are just sophomores in highschool right now. There will surely be more added as the kids develop. I find it VERY hard to believe that there would only by 49 such players in the entire country. Kids are still growing and developing skill wise as sophomores in highschool

In no way am I taking credit away from Georgetown - they proved to be the nightmare matchup for us - but I contend that Wes, Fitz, and others could have gotten more involved had DJ made better decisions to spread the ball instead of trying to "carry the team."

Let's also face the fact that we truly have a PG-sized 2G playing the point right now. Think: Nate Robinson without the J.

Freeway- I never doubted you. I was just commenting that I'm sure there will be more 3 star or higher guys over 6'8 by the time it is 2009. Kids that come into their own once they hit varsity and what not.... keep in mind 99% of the sophomores do not even play varsity basketball.

why I am hard on DJ is because, he is the guy that everyone is talking about going to the NBA.  He is the leader, with leadership comes the blame, look at any leader.  Two years ago when the Pack went 4-12, everyone was quick to judge Favre, and yes he is to blame.

Lets also not forget that DJ avg 6 points the last three games, has hit no threes, and I don't even want to calculate his shooting percentage.  I am sick of watching James throw up bricks from NBA range threes, how is that our best shot?  He shot 2-17 against Georgetown, and really it should have been 1-17 (no way was that goaltend going in), at times of the games, he looks out of control, especially when we have a breakaway 2-1 (HE NEVER PASSES)  I love the guy, but I think he thinks he has to carry the team on his shoulders and make the tough shot, when 1 or 2 more passes would get us a better shot.  Yes we were close in the second half by the point margin, but not once in that game did I think we were going to win.  MU will bounce back, we will beat DePaul, however any more play like we did against Georgetown, and we will lose that game too, lets face it, MU looked awful

Virtually 100% them with high-major D-1 skills are on their varsity teams.

I don't want to count on any Frosh to dominate.
