Wade is finally responding to criticism that the Mavs lost more than the Heat won last year's championship:

From today's ESPN Truth & Rumors

QuoteDwyane Wade has plenty of evidence to back his status as a clutch player, and he's not afraid to take a big shot. That holds off the court, as well. Take his disdain for Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki. "Dirk said that they gave us the championship last year," Wade said Thursday. "But he's the reason they lost the championship because he wasn't the leader he's supposed to be in the closing moments."
-- Pam Beach Post

ouch!!  bet I'll be hearing about this for a few days.. (I live in Dallas area).

Wade is right. Dirk choked....that was a helluva pass he made to Dampier at the end of game 6

Agreed, I was just about to post this, but 10 minutes too slow!

I think it is true, and I hate people complaining about the refs, when you are up 2-0, you should be able to win 2 before the other team wins four. Dirk didn't get it done, and Wade stepped up.

Didn't expect Wade to say something so strong, since usually he is pretty humble, and never really hear him speak in negative terms, but I liked hearing the truth from him. Sometimes Dirk, the truth hurts.

should be interesting considering that some reports are that Nowitzki may be promoted to starter for the West in the all-star game in a week.. if that happens they'll be squaring off against each other..

although I am not sure how he'd be promoted.. yao is the only starter who will miss the game so far and it doesn't make sense to replace him (a center) with nowitzki (a forward).. does it?!

I like Wade's quote....shows he has a little edge to him....Dirk completely flopped in the finals last year.

It was a strong quote, but not that strong in the sense that he's not being humble. He's bashing him for not closing the deal last year, but he's also saying that he's a better leader than what he displayed in the finals. Basically, Dwyane could have said much worse things, this is pretty mild.
