I know he is at least 1for 1 on game winning shots. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that is 100% I believe.

I'm not sure I want to enter the fray here, but if you said he hit's that shot 80% of the time earlier in this thread, now you make the comment that he is at least 1 for 1 which is 100%, then BEFORE he took the shot, he may have been at 0%.  So, I think it's safe to say, he doesn't "hit that shot 80% of the time," as you did.

well you are wrong and right. You are wrong in the fact that 0 for 0 is not 0%...there is no percentage available for someone who takes 0 shots attempts. You are right that "he doesn't hit that shot 80% of the time"...at his current clip, he hits it at 100%

So I imagine you have watched all 120 WVU games Butler has played in, to ascertain that he is indeed has a 100% FG% for game winning shots?

I suggest you take a class in statistics.  I never have, but I'm smart enough to know that 0 and 1 samples is not enough to ascertain any guess about what his game winning circus shot percentage might be with statistical relevance.  He has hit 1, that is all we know.

You all don't understand.
Great players, like Butler, make great plays.
When the game is on the line, he has his adrenalin pumping and he can swish 8 out of 10 spin-away three pointers with a hand in his face.  Now, of the 2 out of 10 times he misses he probably gets the rebound 8 out of 10 times.  Out of the 8 out of 10 times he gets the rebound he probably slams it in for a monster dunk and draws the foul 8 out of 10 times.  Of those FTs he makes 10 our of 10.  Great player, Great plays, I know the statistics.

Sounds like Butler doesn't make 100% of his circus shots to win games. Not even 80%.

mikeDEANmeminger

ya except, big difference. did you see the defense?? That is how you get a hand in the face and jump when the shooter jumps. Watch the two videos and there is a clear difference.
