Just because the announcers say positive things about the other team doesn't mean they are "MU haters, homers for the other team, or amateur".  I thought they did a good job of being excited about a great college basketball game.  Numerous times they talked about how tough MU was playing.  Sure they said good things about WVU - they are the 6th ranked team in the country and a team that made a tournament run last year.  If you would prefer to hear people say positive things about your team, listen to the local feed.

These guys were nothing compared with Len Elmore, they did a decent job for being the tertiary crew that they are.

I agree....they were complimentary of MU last night many times.  Saying how gritty we were, how patient, how unselfish, etc.

The references to Lazar being like DeShaun Butler really bothered me.  They made it sound like Hayward is a poor man's Butler.

There is a reason some announcers are on the B team or the regional telecasts, they aren't very good, they are either young and just starting out like Mike Kelly or they are old and washed up like Wenzel.

I'm also getting quite tired of the bs "newcomer" (read "inferior") tag that still gets thrown at us when dealing with "old school" Big East people.  It's year 5 and we've more than proven that we can keep up.  Time to get over it.

what have we proven??  when you win the conference or the conference tourney then you will be accepted.

West Virginia hasn't done either of those things in basketball.

MU has definitely proved it can compete well in this league.  In 20 years it may still be looked at as the new guy.  That may not change until or if there is significant turnover in league schools.  What is important is MU is here and competing well.

I didn't think they were bad at all.  Wenzel did our NCAA tournament games last year, I believe.  They're weren't like the TV32 crews with McIlvaine which barely acknowledge that the other team is even on the floor.

Wenzel went on and on about how gritty we were.  Also, West Virginia had a bunch of those three passes lead to a back door lay-up possessions, which announcers have been drooling over since the inception of televised basketball.

Never talk about Homerism?

Even if you don't like Homer, he is the only pro MU media guy in the MKE market.

The #1 rule of Homerism:  I am a homer, but I am not an idiot.
