Player of the game: Senior forward Lazar Hayward had one of his better shooting games, connecting on 9 of 15 shots to finish with a game-high 23 points to go along with seven rebounds in 29 minutes.

Hayward also began to find his shot a bit from three-point range, which had to be a welcome sight for the Golden Eagles. He knocked down 2 of 3, including one from NBA range. Throw in three steals, an assist and a steal without a turnover, and it was pretty darn close to a perfect afternoon for the MU big man.

Turning point: MU trailed, 12-10, with 12 minutes 54 seconds remaining in the first half, then proceeded to knock down its next nine shots to go up, 28-18.
