Reggie Smith
« on: December 20, 2009, 12:51:50 PM »
I was flipping through the High School Basketball section of the Chicago Tribune this morning and I came across an article about Thornton (Smith's team).  Some quick notes about Reggie Smith and his team:

-Thornton is ranked 15 in the state
-They beat a typically good Homewood-Flossmoor 80-67.
-"Reggie Smith, a Marquette-bound senior, was typically outstanding."
-Reggie Smith was the "Player of the game" with 22 points and 7 assists.
-"The 6-foot Smith showed off his improved long-range shooting and playmaking ability that turned him into a Big East recruit."

Sounds like a very good player on a very good team.  I'm looking forward to Smith arriving on campus and I think he can be a solid player for us if he continues to improve his shot.

We Are Marquette!

He's an athletic FREAK!  Just work on the play making and the outside shot.

I am very excited Reggie for next year.  With Blue, Reggie, DJO, Buycks, and Junior all in the roto, and getting OTule back, we have some great depth and a nice balanced team.  Add in the F roto of Butler, JJ, and EWill, that is some nice depth, athleticism, and talent.

Don't forget Fulce is playing better every game.  And who knows, maybe some new talented recruits.  How many scholarships do we still have available with the departure of Maymon?

Looks like he has some athleticism. Before we get to spun out, remember Artie Green. Phenomenal moves and a killer dunker but the rest of his game was...wanting

Artie should have been drafted by the Packers

Don't forget about Jamail Jones.  He appears to be blowing up right now.  He had a really good weekend at the City of Palms classic and got rave reviews.

MU is going to have some high-flying fast breaks.  Here's another athletic guard to look forward to:

I don't remember Matthews or McNeal dunking like Smith and Blue until Soph year of college.
