Tennessee's "Hostess" Program
« on: December 09, 2009, 03:55:10 PM »
The New York Times has a verrrrry interesting story about an NCAA investigation at Tennessee, concerning recruiting "hostesses"—i.e., hot Tennessee co-eds who get quite friendly with talented high school football players.

I wonder if they do the same for basketball????

“You don’t want to go to a college where they ain’t pretty,” Lattimore said.

Truer words have never been spoken.

MU actually had a couple real cute girls working in the basketball office in the late 80's that may have done some hosting as I recall. I believe one of them was the daughter of St. Louis' coach at the time. I don't recall his name, but the apple fell very far from the tree much to her good fortune.

"He said they brought signs, including one that read, “Come to Tennessee.” "

Yeah I bet.

They probably send Bruce Pearl out to recruit for their women's team and he takes off his shirt.

Been going on forever.  You should see what Alabama was doing when I was in school, or Florida State.  I knew a Florida State QB (who shall remain nameless) who was recruited by both schools and the recruiting stories were incredible as it related to the hostess.  Anything he wanted.

It happens EVERYWHERE (yes, even MU) in college athletics...just part of the game.

It isnt the dumb ones who do it, its the dumb ones that get caught.
