here are some blogs from BADgernation.com.... i was banned form this site already. I hate those D Bags!

"This Marquette team has no depth and Maymon was out for the NC State game with a hip pointer.  They pose some speed matchup problems but the way the Badgers have played since Hawaii this one should be a route."

"It would be interesting to know what Vander Blue is thinking right now.  Marquette is a team searching for its identity and Wisconsin is playing some great basketball.  It is a long season but at this point Marquette is a floundering team.  NC State is a bad team."

"Badgers should whip on them this year and next."

"They could recruit 5 more Vander Blews, but until they get some guys over 6'-6" with a pulse, I don't know how they seriously challange for anything of note.  They don't have ANYBODY coming down the pipeline like that.... and bigs usually take a year or two to develop.  So assuming they find somebody is 2011 or 2012, they still might be 3 or 4 years away from having a decent post player."

"Maymon already accomplished his greatest feat as a Gold member in convincing Vander to come underachieve with him."

mu_hilltopper

Yeah, let's see.  Those guys are delusional.  Let's check.

Agree, Agree, Agree/maybe, Mostly agree, So far/agree.

Man, I hate those guys.

Spaniel with a Short Tail

That last one was pretty good.  Otherwise nothing particularly original.

Is that anything like a rout?

If its like our last two games it's "root" as in canal.

syscokid

I agree. i love the spelling of route! High class education at UW-Madison! lol

What is it about Mbao that allows people to assume he isn't going to be a legit center in a year or two? He is clearly raw, but it seems some people are already chalking him up to be a bust.

syscokid

That's why these BADger fans are morons! They don't even know him or Otule are on our roster?

A few things, they should rout us this year, but then again it is "our super bowl" so you never know.

But let's not forget what Myles, Dano, Richinbunnygoodness, Fran, Swenson, Butchbadger and Badgermaniac have said over the years

A few gems from the last few years

1) Marquette will never finish in the top half of the Big East
2) Marquette will not even make their own conference tournament
3) Marquette has special majors and courses for athletes (John Clay anyone, Ron Dayne anyone, Brent Moss anyone, hockey team anyone, Ag Journalism anyone

Etc, etc

They should beat us this year, perhaps even rout us.

The Vander Blue stuff is funny, however.  Maybe Vander looked at the makeup of their team and thought he was walking into a Fighting Whities convention and decided no thanks.

How about the fact that he has only played in three games for about 10 minutes.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

There's the "no one in the pipeline" bit when there's two guys ON THE TEAM.

If the MU team that was a 6 seed in the Tournament last year was "mediocre" as one poster says what does that make his Badger team coached by Bo the great(starting 2 seniors and 2 juniors) which squeeked in as a 12 seed?

This is really hilarious. We were in rebuilding mode this year even before the injuries and everyone on that board knows it yet losing 2 games to Florida State and NC state by a total of 4 points is some sign that Buzz can't coach?  ::)

Yeah we played horrible in the 2nd half yesterday..... We are probably the smallest team in D1 basketball.....We have been for awhile now and that has to change but give Buzz a little time.

Next year we won't be playing 2 midgets in the backcourt for 30 minutes a game......All the returning players will have another year in the system.

I think UW fans should be more worried about who is going to matchup with Blue, Cadougan, and DJO because without Hughes "The Swing" might look more like "The Swing and a miss."

This.  Maybe some slight exagerrations, but they seem to be more on the money with our team than their own.

Sorry, I was unaware that current performance Freshman year is indicative of how he is going to perform the next 3.75 years at Marquette.

Good post, Sysco Kid, just in time to stir the pot for this weeks game against udubya.  You notice that one of "lucky" wins this year was over a team that UW lost to in 09 ncaa tourney...XU.  I like this year's bucky team and Bo has "coached them up", but many Baddjir fans are myopic and just plain dumb.  The only bball history that they can pinpoint is the last ten years.  They are among the "new age" fans with no sense of NCAA history!!

So are their messages saying Buzz is cheating, MU is cheating, etc.  I come from the eye for an eye school. (I changed the original message though I know they will keep up their ridiculous and unnecessary crap)

Besides, they're own message boards say similar things (examples):

"We should call our team the Fighting Whities".

"Looking at our team photo, you have to wonder if Vander Blue might feel that there are very few people that look like him"

"Does Bo have to recruit only tall white guys.  Is there something against recruiting African Americans to play for him"

denverMU

They could recruit 5 more Vander Blews, but until they get some guys over 6'-6" with a pulse, I don't know how they seriously challange for anything of note.  They don't have ANYBODY coming down the pipeline like that.... and bigs usually take a year or two to develop.  So assuming they find somebody is 2011 or 2012, they still might be 3 or 4 years away from having a decent post player."

THIS IS RIGHT ON TARGET,  Someone seriously argue this point!  Look across the country, why can't Buzz "The Recriuter" find someone, that he will actually play during the game, taller than a made up 6-6 to come play at MU????

No, but the fact that he didn't play any meaningful minutes when we were clearly lacking height is worrisome for this year . I just don't see him making enough progress this year to help us out.

This year's team needed a Robert Jackson type player. Then we would compete at the top of the Big East this year. But after the FSU game, I can't see us stopping Monroe or other bigs in the BEast.

You are right that this is a huge problem, but Buzz has had seom serious tough luck with bigs.  Its not like he cannot recruit them.

He showed up with Burke there and Mbakwe ready to fill in, but Mbackwe left.

Liam was ready to step in, but had the health problems.  Otule was ready to get 10 mins at least, but broke his foot.  And then that one JUCO got a rape charge.  Buzz has been doing a reasonable job in getting bigs to commit.

Also, losing to two ACC teams by close margins and having two halves of dominate basketball against them is actually a good sign.  We are young and have no center.  We are 2-2 against high major opponents and still a bubble team.  Last year, we were also 2-2 against high majors (beat Wisco and NC State, lost to Tenn and Dayton).

We have not shown that we will get blwon out by Wisco at all.  I don't know how they are going to keep DJO, Byucks, and Jimmy in front of them.  They will obviously kill us inside, but we are not playing an ACC team next week.  Its the slow Big Ten.

NC State is one of the worst ACC teams out there, we have no business losing to them.  FSU has not been that good either.  This is the worst ACC in probably 10 years....hell, the Big Ten just beat them.

I wish I was that confident. UW is quicker than you'd think. Hughes and Taylor are both good athletes. So are Evans and Wilson.

What scares me though is their screening. MU had a helluva time figuring out what to do with NC State's ballscreens. With the amount that are set in one possession, MU is going to have to work very hard, likely deep into the shot clock. With a short bench, that worries me.
