Seriously, if I heard Fran Fraschilla use that phrase one more time last night, I would have thrown my television against the wall.

NickelDimer

Overused indeed.  He also seemed impressed with Darius Odom-Johnson.

Whats not to be impressed with?  He needs to shoot even more.

Somebody better tell Fran that.

Also, how many times did they talk about FSU playing their fourth game in five days?  They never mentioned that it was MU's fourth game in six days.

HE should have started calling darius odom-johnson....doj the jyd.
I laughed when he called him that, because they were showing the back of his jersey in the huddle and he still got it wrong.
I do indeed like being called junk yard dogs though, its pretty awesome.

Don't get me started on how the announcing was horrible. Before the game started they were referring to Zar as "Lazar Haywood"... it's not like he just came on the scene this year, he's a senior that will be going to the NBA.

It didn't get off to a good start when Len Elmore forgot Dwight Buycks.

muwarrior87

Gotlieb afterwards called Zar "Laz Hayward" too. Laz??

jaybilaswho?

Alot of times during the tourny they were calling Lazar, Lazar Haywood. That drove me crazy.

My wife and I drank every time "Junkyard Dogs" was mentioned.  While I was able to achieve a buzz with this drinking game, I wish I had substituted Jameson for the beer.  There isn't enough beer in the world that would have made that ending better.

It was great how he said DJO was his "favorite player of the tournament" and he didn't even know his last name

Len Elmore said he was getting grief from Marquette fans for saying "Haywood". He explained that being from New York that is how the name comes out in his accent. He said he talked to Lazar about it and Lazar, being a fellow New Yorker, was OK with it....something like that came out of his mouth toward the beginning of the game.

Wasn't part of his explanation that he spelled Hayward's name correctly?  As in H-E-Y-W-A-R-D?  I swear that I heard that, but wasn't sure if it was misremembered.

I love us being referred to as "junkyard dogs".  Do you know anything tougher and meaner?

Hahaha, YES. I was hoping I wasn't the only person that heard him misspell his name as well. Man, there are so many issues with such a simple name, good grief.

To be honest I was drowning my sorrows over the Bears great showing yesterday and just heard part of his explanation.
