Thought it was interesting and great to see what Utah fans were saying about Wes so far in this thread devoted to him. Seems like most are really excited about his future. Hopefully Jerel or Dom get a chance like this in a year or two.

I know he will hit a tough stretch as most NBA rookies do - same goes for vets - but he truly is playing at a really high level and making the most of his opportunity since Ronnie Price and Miles are out which thins the Guard positIon

Here is another thread about Wes from early October. Fun to see if and how feelings and opinions have changed since. No longer seen as just simply a replacement or fill-in bench guy for injuries.

Who did the Jazz actually draft though this past year, anyone know how they are doing?

MUCrew

I know Eric Maynor out of VCU was their 1st round selection this year.  I hve not really heard any buzz coming out of the NBA. I could be wrong.

The Man in Gold

They drafted Goran Sutton (MSU) in the 2nd round and promptly cut him in the pre-season.

So anything related to past Marquette great players is not 'bball-related"? Just wondering what the exact rules are for posting in the Al and the Superbar now and why so many topics about past players are getting moved.

"Hangin' at the Al =  Message board for all things related Marquette Basketball - recruiting, coaching, game strategy,

The Superbar = What happens at the Superbar, stays at the Superbar. This is the place to talk about anything non-bball related, like jobs, technology, food & drink on campus, naked beer slide strategy, recent events, etc.

Yeah I don't know either.  Makes sense to me to be in the Al.  Moving it back.

Glad to see I'm not just out of the loop or something and dont know the rules. A Jerel, Dominic, Wade and Buzz thread were also moved over there I saw.

Well.. NBA talk has usually been moved over there.. so I could see it being a fine line.. if you're talking about them in an MU related context versus an NBA slant that could be the differentiating criteria.  Perhaps the superbar description should read "What happens at the Superbar, stays at the Superbar. This is the place to talk about anything not specifically college non-b-ball related, like jobs, technology, food & drink on campus, naked beer slide strategy, recent events, NBA, etc."

I'm thinking the point is that if you're looking to talk about MU b-ball itself the Al forum is your place.  If you're interested in discussing tangential topics that MU b-ball fans are interested in (milwaukee, marquette bars, other MU sports, NBA, etc.) then the superbar is where to go - even if the subject of the thread may have been significantly involved with MU b-ball.  I, personally, could go either way but do like the logic of the split (clarified) above.

Exactly, Wes is Marquette-and always will be wearing the Marquette jersey no matter what to me. I would understand the split, but the Superbar is a place I dont think people regularly go anyways (and i thought it would be of interest to alot) and it "says" its non-basketball related. Maybe their should be another board that is somewhere in the middle...like all sports-talk besides specific talk on current and past MU teams.

NBA players are related to Marquette basketball, but the NBA is not Marquette basketball.  During the summer, when conversation is slow we leave a lot of semi-OT threads around the 'Al'.  But when things get busy around the season, and we have >30 threads updating in the Al each day (and it's hard for people to keep up), we'll likely move the OT and semi-OT threads to the superbar.  Just my philosophy, FWIW, and I don't think we need a seperate board for that.

By that logic, every thread having to do with Crean would get moved to the superbar as well, but that never seems to happen.

LOL - again though 1) That happened a lot this summer 2) Most of them didn't start our OT :(

I think the MU NBA player updates should stay on this board.  If the board is so busy, that links that are less than a day old are going to the second page, I can see moving the link on MU NBA players, but otherwise, I'd bet 99% of MU fans like to see these updates.  I know I do.  And I, like most, don't review the side boards.

That's chicken and the egg.  If there were thing of high interest to you in the Superbar then you would check the Superbar more often.

Your argument is that this board should be cluttered with off-topic threads because you're lazy.  That's not a great argument.

I think we should be able to talk about players for 1 year after they leave before the threads get moved to supber bar.

Agreed.

The Man in Gold

By definition, is this thread now OT and destined for the Super Bar?
