First positive article I have seen about the upcoming season - Katz had a fairly neutral article a couple weeks ago, but nothing about finishing tied for 6th in the Big East.

Wow.  He's more bullish than me.  I hope he is right!

MR.HAYWARD

Just becuase you operate a site does not mean you know anything.  $10 a month for nothing, IWB who apparently has more contacts than Bausch and Laumb was supposedly the reason to throw money down that rat hole.  he is not even there anymore.  Better discussion and more information at MUScoop.  That site is like a empty auditorium.  Except for Dodds giving Crean credit for everything like a broken record.

That is probably the biggest joke of a sentence I have ever seen on here.  All of the info posted on here is 2nd hand.  If by "better discussion," you mean "every post turning into pro-crean vs anti crean" then yes, you woudl be correct.

I do enjoy making the rounds, and contributing. But to say that this site has "better discussion and more information" is just not true.

Isn't it equally a joke to say EVERY POST is a pro-crean vs anti-crean post?

Holy cow . . . did chicos and hayward just take the same side of an issue?

ChicosBailBonds

He's definitely on the bullish side, but he has a strong basketball acumen so it's certainly a legit opinion.

John did pick the Badgers to win the Big Ten last year, however (though he consistently nailed it in years prior).  I had the Badgers 5th last year and 7th this year.

I hope John is right about MU and I'm right about UW-Madison

Where does John have UW finishing this year?

I'm just so happy to have Mr. Hayward back in the family fold here on MU Scoop, I wanted to throw him a bone.

As you may or may not know I frequently post video highlights of the Marquette games on Scoop.  The first time I posted videos, I posted a thread on Hoops letting them know I had game highlights they could watch.  I had no ill will towards Dodds or his website.  I just wanted Marquette fans to be able to view Marquette highlights.

Dodds sent me an e-mail saying he had notified ESPN, however, he said if I posted the videos on his website he might be able to work out a deal with ESPN.  I ignored him and I have yet to hear from ESPN.

MUScoop doesn't censor links to other Marquette websites.  If anything they encourage them.  Scoop gives the Marquette fan access to everything Marquette no matter the source.

Over at Hoops if you try to give the people anything from another site its blasphemy.

Any website that includes a QB from Issaquah, WA on its list of "Marquette Recruits" is about as useless to me as a QB is to Marquette.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

A signficant amount of info gets linked at muhoops...so Im sorry to hear that you got censored.

But...do you honestly believe that there is more information here at Muscoop, than at MUhoops?  That is what started me on this path...someone saying that there is "better discussion, and better information at Muscoop"

Dodds has nothing to do with that.  The National Scout.com writers, Dave Telep and Evan Daniels, control what gets put on the recruiting lists.  The local site can only ask that something get added or removed.

MR.HAYWARD

so you are saying that even tho he sent the email he had nothing to do with it? ::)

LOL.  Definitely don't link to an AP photo, you  would definitely not want to get a call from the AP because they were tipped off by big brother somewhere else.

Definitely don't link to a blog...blog links aren't allowed....unless of course it's IWB's blog then it's ok.  LOL

At the end of the day, those guys make $$$$ on their website.  The guys that run this site, aren't making money and neither is Cracked Sidewalks.    They have financial incentive to keep their viewers from staying there and not going elsewhere....which is fine.  Wish them well.

nyg

Back on track.  Don't really give a crap who has a better site, better graphics, better personalities etc., go to whatever site you like and just enjoy.

Now, if this guy's predictions are 21-9, 11-6 in BE and a 12th NCAA seed, then Buzz Williams has to be BE coach of the year and MU the surprise team.

mu_hilltopper

Ok, everyone .. settle down.  There's plenty of room on the internets for all of us.

Sometimes, yeah.  MUScoop skews younger, which means it has more students who see and hear more on-campus and "unofficial" events.

Certainly, though, if recruiting stuff gets your rocks off, Scout is the better avenue.

No reasonable person can conclude there are better discussions on the other board. The place is a morgue. This board doesn't just "skew younger" as mu_hilltopper points out. This board "skews" objectivity. It "skews" people with differing opinions and it "skews" away from petulant, under-developed boy-men. Read that board for more a few days and you find yourself in need of some Purell. God only knows where the hands of some of those regular posters have been.

4everwarriors

Tough to run an objective board when you're on MU's payroll. Meanwhile, if you post Crean's stuff is yellow, brown, and stinks,.......you'll be banned for life.

Here's a "for example" for you. The night before the Marquette v. Missouri NCAA tournament game, muscoop had information on James returning for the game, well before Sportscenter broke the story. I can't speak for the other site (b/c that curiously occurred b4 one can go back to look at threads from the site, it only goes back to May, at least from what I found) but this isn't the only time scoop has been cutting edge as far as information goes. Two other stories that broke here at least as early as anywhere else, and well before "official news sources" reported, were crean and vander blue. these are all big stories, and they broke at scoop fairly early in their respective developments. Maybe the discussion and information is equal, but after going to the other site, i've realized both sites are similar, I don't like the censoring at the other site and the label of scout
