That one post that you linked to seemed to be from one annoying poster.  The rest of the board, while small, seemed like a relatively normal fan base.  I can understand their annoyance at the refs because that 1 "Count the basket" charge was bad enough to overshadow all of the calls that went PC's way.  It might have been the worst call I've ever seen at a basketball game.  (Including the ridiculous 5th foul against Diener against Louisville when he was running towards the ball on an inbounds play and got tripped and then Mason had to win the game for us with a jumper from the corner and then the free throw after the UL player inexplicably fouled Mason after the shot was away.  Yes I'm still upset about the foul and yes I'm even happier with the way the game turned out in the end.)

Holy smokes was that atrocious! I recall even the announcers and the ESPN studio guys laughing at how bad that was!

I am not normally one to whine about officiating, but today's game was one of the worst officiated games I've ever seen -- on both sides.

On a side note, I noticed McNeal seemed to know one of the referees personally. I saw them speak rather familiarly both before and during the game.

Providence fans for the most part are very knowledgeable and courteous. That said, I don't understand opponents' resentment of Crean. I mean, in a league with Calhoun and Dixon and Slick Rick and Boeheim (a great guy but a classic whiner), TC stands out as someone who pleads his case but never gets a T. Don't understand how opponents think he's a baby.

I'll say one thing, I don't want to see that team again this year.  I don't like the way we match up.  I don't blame a PC fan for being upset.  They need a high quality scalp on the road and they missed a golden opportunity with DJ's off night.

I am glad we MU fans never whine that refs are the reason for a loss. That would be embarrassing.  

BTW, I wouldn't be surprised if the same line about Fitz was posted on an MU board a few years ago when he lit MU up his Freshman year.

Fitz was everywhere yesterday.  Besides the points, he was rebounding and had a few deflections too.  Great game.
