2010 is shaping up to be a great class with Jones and Blue so far.  However, we still have two open spots for 2010 (assuming that Clark isn't coming).  Tarik Black would be a great get.  Who else does Buzz go after?  Will we be signing four guys when the November LOI day arrives?

Tugg Speedman

What is the latest with Clark?  Has he said anything publically?  Is their any chance he was in the wrong place at the wrong time as opposed to be involved?

(to be clear, I don't want him if he was involved.  We are not Louisville.  But I seem to recall a story that essentially said he did not participate in the assault but was present at a party where it happened ... just trying to get the story straight.)

4everwarriors

There were 3 things wrong with Clark's situation:

1. He used his gerke,

2. In the wrong place,

3. At the wrong time.

Remove Clark from your memory bank.  Even if he was wrongly accussed, he'll never play ball at MU.

He may still be locked up.  Never will set foot on campus.

Far as topic is concerned, I believe Buzz will be looking for a PF or Center to complete the 2010 class.

Heck, there's two open spots, why not both?  Also, especially with Cadougan being redshirted this year and the Juco target Clark no longer coming, I'm thinking Buzz will go Juco with one of the open spots to better balance the classes, because he seems to have good connections in that area, and because it seems to make sense from a depth/roster standpoint to get a Juco big if he's halfway decent.

Blackhat

Going to be hard for Clark to get up and down the court in ankle shackles.

I think he goes for two.

One JuCo and one High school kid.  It would make sense.  Equal out the classes.  get a Junior JuCo along with a freshman and, I could be mistaken, the classes would be 3-3-3-4.  That's as even as you're going to get.

so far Buzz has Jones-a 6'6" SF, replace Lazar
Blue-replace acker/cubes
JC-replace acker/cubes

Now get a few PF/C type players and that's a darn good class.

I would not mind seeing us getting a pure shooter.

Speaking of Who's next, I've updated the scholarship table.  Added Frozena to this years roster, removed Clark, slid Cadougan over as a (medical) red-shirt this year, and of course added Blue.

Thank you!  I say this all the time, but the Scholarship Table is one of my favorite things about Scoop.  I check it out ALL the time.

Agreed, but let's get someone who is more PF than C.  We already have two big-men, Otule and Mbao who are only going to contribute at the 5... I don't think it makes sense to allocate another scholarship to a dedicated center this early in Chris' and Yous' careers unless he can step back & play the 4, or is a top-five/ten recruit at the 5.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

I see the scholarship table has been updated.  Thanks.  2 more schollies available for 2010.

Clark has (appropriately) been thrown down the memory hole.

We all know that Tarick Black is considering MU, I also read that JayVaughn Pinkston (6'7", 235lb) has us on his list.

If I'm Buzz, I'm on the phone with those two as well as Maurice Walker & Freddy Aspirilla (who I'd personally prefer - even though it looks like we're fading with those two horses) and telling them that we've got our back court set and that with their interior presence, MU can realistically compete for a National Title in the very near future.

I know we don't have a great history of developing bigs, but if I were a 4 or a 5, I can't imagine a better situation to come into...no real competition for PT and very little depth...big minutes are absolutely THERE for the taking and you'd be sharing a court with two consecutive top 15 recruiting classes...

GO GET 'EM BUZZ!

Walker and Black, please.

Walker is a pretty big longshot, I wouldnt get my hopes up.

I think another Guard and a PF would round out this class nicely.  My best case scenario would be Black and Howard.

If Black goes elsewhere, I could see Buzz holding the scholarships until spring...waiting for a JUCO or D1 Transfer

This is a total pipe dream...but be honest, how sick would it be:

PG:  Junior Cadougan / DJO
SG:  Vander Blue / Buycks
SF:  Jimmy Butler / Jamail Jones / E. Will
PF:  Maymon / Tarik Black / Fulce
C:   Mo Walker / Mbao / O'Tule

I should note (since I've been questioned about it), I've made the not-so-giant assumption that the "extra" scholarship from this year will roll unused into next year, leaving 2 available for 2011-2012.

Which deviates from the wording on the table "assuming all from previous year have been used".   Just FYI...

Walker is likely to go to Pitt. He is visiting there this coming weekend, and it is his only scheduled visit. I would be very surpised if he doesnt commit.

I find it interesting how Erik Williams seems to be getting lost in the shuffle.  Where's the love for Williams?  He is ranked higher in his class than Jones is ranked in his class (at least according to Scout).  I don't follow recruiting as closely as some on here, but are we really looking at a situation where a four-star recruit like Williams is going to be burried third on the depth chart?  Are the kids we're signing really that good?

There is a lot of basketball to be practiced and played between now and then.  Buzz is smart enough to know who will be best for us when the time comes.

Pakuni

Not sure if the feeling is mutual, but MU (along with Mizzou, Georgetown and Florida International) is in the final four for Tony Mitchell, a 6'6" forward out of Dallas.
